Milestone
A clinical performance by Royal Riders Punjab. They defeat Konark Suryas Odisha by 43 runs and register their first victory of the season.

That's it from our live coverage of this game. This is Mohammad Anab signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj and our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Cheers.
Asghar Afghan (Royal Riders Punjab Captain): "(On the conditions) The weather was great. Little bit cold, like Kabul.

(Batting plan) We knew if we can get over 140, it will be difficult to chase. Our batting line-up is very strong, partnerships are important for any team and we got that."
Chaturanga de Silva (Legend of the Match): "The wicket was a bit slow and it was turning. It’s a bit hard till it settles. When you settle down there, you can play a good innings.

(On Mohammad Shehzad) Yeah, he had a really good game in the first match also. He had a good start in the second game as well. It’s really helpful, particularly with Shehzad."

Time for the post-match presentation!
Jermaine Blackwood (Konark Suryas Odisha Captain): "I would like to appreciate our bowlers but we let them down. We put down too many catches in the field, and as you know in cricket, catches win matches. So I think going forward, we have to take as many catches as possible.

(On reason for the loss) No, I think it's just a bad night. In cricket, you're going to drop catches, you're going to take catches, but I think we put down some very easy ones. But I think going forward the team is going to do much better in the fielding aspect.

(On Morne van Wyk) It was all about Morne van Wyk, a brilliant knock by him. I think he batted beautifully on the wicket because the wicket was playing up and down, and I think he batted well for us."
10:53 PM IST: What a dominant bowling performance from the Royal Riders Punjab as they seal a 43-run victory. With this, the bat first-win the game trend also continues in this tournament. Except for Morne van Wyk, the Konark Suryas Odisha didn't look like they were in the chase at all and have been bowled out for 113 in the end.

Chasing 157 for victory, Konark Suryas Odisha lost Kennar Lewis in the second over itself with Rishi Dhawan accounting for his wicket. Morne van Wyk did look good at one end but Jermaine departed in the sixth over with Mohammad Shahzad taking a cracking catch off Angelo Perera's bowling.

Despite making 49/2 in the Powerplay, the scoring rate dipped drastically once the field spread out. Just as van Wyk reached his fifty, the Konark Suryas also lost Chirag Gandhi off the very next delivery. Asghar Afghan's decision to introduce Farman Ahmed also proved to be a great call as the latter dismissed van Wyk in the 11th over. The wickets kept falling with Kashyap Prajapati, the impact sub, failing to use the DRS despite being struck outside-off courtesy Farman's bowling in the 13th over.

There was no comeback for the Konark Suryas after that with the likes of Chaturanga de Silva, Aftab Alam and Thisara Perera getting amongst the wickets as well. Perera, in fact, bowled two superb deliveries in the 19th to close out the contest and secure a comfortable victory.

Earlier in the match, the opening duo of Mohammad Shahzad and Danushka Gunathilaka ran on a lot of luck as the Konark Suryas' fielders kept dropping catch after catch. The pair went onto stitch a 59-run stand before Saurin Thakar finally castled Gunathilaka in the eighth over. As usual, the spinners brought the run-rate down before Shahzad was trapped in front for 41 by Jesal Karia in the 11th over.

There was no major contribution after that with the exception of Chaturanga de Silva who smacked three sixes in his 19-ball 28. Asghar Afghan and Thisara Perera struck a six each in their respective stays in the middle but it was largely tough going as the likes of Saurin Thakar, Jesal Karia and Faiz Ahmed gave nothing away. Ankit Rajpoot also came up with a couple of crucial scalps but the duo of Angelo Perera and Seekkuge Prasanna gave a decent finish to help the Royal Riders Punjab settle on 156/8.
