Irfan Pathan(Legend of the Match and Konark Suryas Odisha Captain): "I knew the pitch had some grip in it. When I got hit for a maximum, I tried to go for a seam up delivery. I got hit on my body while batting as it was getting extra bounce. Richard Levi came up cunningly and if he had not done that, the game would have gone to super over.
When I pulled my muscle, I decided to push Vinay ahead. In the first game versus Manipal, I bowled the last over. I was clear and used my experience.
When Rikki Clarke took 26 from that over, I told everybody that the game is not over yet. In the last group game, I got angry with everyone. See somebody have to step up to cheer the other guys. See Nadeem now, Navin Stewart now and even Pravin Tambe, everybody did their best. When everyone started believing, it was an easy going.
We had lot of challenges in the team. Three main batters left the team in the middle of the tournament and we lacked something. We had to do everything with that limitation.
Whenever I come to Kashmir, I get love and most importantly respect from everyone in the local. Thanks to all of them for the support. Hopefully we will do well in the final which is in two days time."
Legend of the Match: Irfan Pathan
Dependable Player of the Match: Shahbaz Nadeem
Gurkeerat Singh Mann (Toyam Hyderabad Captain)- "Yeah, I wasn't expecting the final ball in that way from Irfan but I felt that I could hit that one. Once Rikki had gotten that massive over we felt we could have capitalized. However T20 is a tough format and these things happen. Rikki almost got us through and it was a great knock from him. The whole group believed that we were playing good cricket. We have had these last over finishes and unfortunately we didn't hold our nerves this time."
Time for the post-match presentations.
