Milestone
It has been a clinical chase from David Warner and his men. They have given themselves every chance for qualification with that win. Now all they can do is wait and pray for the remaining results to go their way. Unfortunately for Quetta, it all gets over here and they would love to come back stronger net year.

We have one more game lined up today. Peshawar Zalmi take on Lahore Qalandars in the Gaddafi Stadium itself. It shall start at 7:30 PM IST (7 PM Local Time). Do switch tabs and join us for that.

On this note, I, Manan Mehta would like to take your leave on behalf of my colleagues Dev Rajawat, Saptak Sanyal, Mohammad Anab and Zeeshan Naiyer.

David Warner (Karachi Kings Captain and Player of the Match): "(How is the feeling?) Amazing.

(The way you led and batted) Yes we set the tone with two wickets early in the powerplay and it is exactly what I asked for. But the things went away from us a bit in the middle overs. It was a 175-run wicket after getting the first two wickets but they batted well after that. But then we brought it back to 196 and it was a chaseable total. I think we executed well.

(The brief was similar to the last game while batting) Look I think you just go out there and play the basics. With the new ball, we got a little bit of luck. Good start from me and Jason (Roy). Then getting the comprehensive win is great. Now we have to wait with anticipation.

(On the cheer from the crowd) Hopefully, they can now dance or something and make a little bit of roar now."
Player of the Match: David Warner
Saud Shakeel (Quetta Gladiators Captain): (On reflecting on the tournament) “We couldn’t consistently get hold of the key moments in the tournament, and we also didn’t manage back-to-back wins. I think that hurt us a lot overall. Some individual players performed well at times, but overall, it didn’t come together in a way that could push us forward in the tournament. We gave our full effort. Sometimes things go in your favour, sometimes they don’t. We played the final last season, but this time we couldn’t perform to that level, which can bring pressure as well.

(On issues in different departments) At times, there were batting problems, at times, bowling issues. We never really showed that combined team effort consistently.

(On the halftime assessment of the last match) At halftime, it felt like we were probably 10 runs short, but at the same time, it also looked like a decent score because batting wasn’t that easy when we were out there. Karachi batted much better in the second innings. Hopefully next season we come back better prepared and get better results, InshaAllah.”
Superpower of the Match: Rilee Rossouw (90 runs off 54 balls)
