Well that's all from our side from this match...You stay with us for the live coverage of all the upcoming games...This is Somya Kapoor signing off with my co-commentators Kingshuk and Vikhyat
Karachi captain was happy to make it through to the playoffs and hailed Danish’s efforts. “Without Danish we wouldn't have posted that score and really happy for the team and Danish. Noor can take wickets at any stage and he is someone if you go after him, he will attack you with his variations. Once you get the momentum, you have the belief and confidence. We have some gun players at the top like Babar, Guptill and Sharjeel and hopefully they will deliver,” Imad said.
Danish Aziz who was just incredible with the bat was adjudged the man of the match. Expressing his delight, Danish said that he was happy for making a notable contribution to the side’s successful run. “The plan was to post at least 160-170 which is why I went hard from the get-go. You feel really happy when your innings contributes to the victory of the team and really glad that we have qualified for the playoffs,” Danish said.
Quetta captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was pretty disappointed with the start and admitted that the side made similar mistakes. “We didn't start well during the run chase and that cost us the game. We committed the same mistake throughout the tournament, we didn't have match winning partnerships throughout the season. We will try to rectify this next year by building a solid team,” he said.
Karachi Kings produced some brilliant all-round show in what was the most important match for them in the league stage…Opener Sharjeel Khan chipped in with some important runs while Danish Aziz’s onslaught against Wildermuth was something fascinating…he collected 33 runs in over and scored 45 off just 13 deliveries before getting out…Karachi are in the playoffs with this win…One major concern for them is Babar Azam’s scoring-rate…The right-hander needs to be more aggressive.
Chasing 177 in 20 overs, Quetta started off well with Weatherald and Saim Ayub scoring 35 runs for the first wicket…Youngster Ayub showed some calibre during his short stay at the crease…Though Gladiators had a decent start, they were back on similar track of losing wickets at regular intervals and were soon left tottering at 127/6 to eventually end their innings at 162/6…Mohammad Ilyas and Arshad Iqbal were brilliant with the ball as the two picked up important wickets at crucial stages of the match…The Quetta think tank has a lot of planning to do for the next season…Their batting has really disappointed the fans…The team management needs to rejig the ideas for sure!!!
That's the end of the match and Karachi Kings are through to the playoffs with this win...This was a do or die situation for them but what a brilliant performance from them...They win by 14 runs against Quetta Gladiators and with this, Lahore Qalandars also bow out of the tournament...Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed did chip in some runs at the end of the competition but failed to take his team over the line
