Milestone
So, that is it from me, Karthik Raj and my co-commentators, Anurag Singh and Akshay Bhide. Stay tuned to OneCricket's coverage of the remainder of this PSL
Wahab Riaz: The way Zazai batted, he took the pressure off, and he made the opposition run out of bowling options. We gave him the license to express himself, because on the day such players can be destructive for any team. In the last three games we have been losing wickets in clumps and we have to work hard and think about it. The batsmen who are playing have to carry it through, otherwise good teams don't let you make a comeback.
Hazratullah Zazai: When I got selected, I was excited to play for Peshawar. Coaches and captain motivated me, and I was fully confident when I came into the ground. I'm more comfortable against pace, and I've practiced against spin too, so I performed equally well against both today.
Hazratullah Zazai has been named as the 'Man of the Match' for his blistering knock
Imad Wasim: They bowled really well, and we couldn't have done much about it if they bowl tightly. They outclassed ourselves in all departments, they utilized the powerplays and we lost wickets in clumps. We could've had a chance if Zazai got out earlier, but there are some positives such as Noor who bowled brilliantly. Nothing to lose now, we have our backs against the wall, and we just have to win now. If we think we can't make it, there's no point in playing, so we'll give it out best shot. Let's see how it goes.
Time for the Post-match Presentation ceremony
Both Powell and Rutherford batted in a circumspect manner against Imad and Noor but the former eventually gave away five wides to bring down the curtains on this one-sided affair. With this win, Peshawar Zalmi move to the Top 2 of the points table while Karachi Kings slip out of the Top 4 spots.
Imad Wasim tried to bring in Waqas Maqsood and Noor Ahmed but Zazai smacked the former for a couple of boundaries too. At the other end, Haider Ali also managed Noor Ahmed's left-arm wrist-spin well with a few boundaries on his own. The end was predictable but it was delayed as Imad Wasim dismissed both Zazai and Shoaib Malik in quick succession. Haider Ali was also dismissed for 16 by the 16-year-old Noor as the West Indian duo of Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford were left with the task of finishing the chase.
A very disappointing performance from Karachi Kings as this match was made to look like two completely different halves. Defending a paltry 109, Karachi Kings were always up against it but Hazratullah Zazai made it worse by taking on the duo of Mohammad Amir and Aamer Yamin. Yamin did dismiss Kamran Akmal for nine in the first over but Zazai started to smash the Karachi pacers to all parts of the ground.
Anurag Singh: Peshawar Zalmi needed that desperately.
