Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator, Soumarya Dutta, and scorer Yogesh Kumar. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!!
But you don't have to go anywhere, as we have one more match scheduled in TNPL today's doubleheader. Switch tabs, follow the fun.
So, what decided the match? The answer is simple. Nellai survived the moments when Kovai had the game in their hands. Kovai had the better start with 59/1 in the Powerplay, while Nellai were only 43/2 after six overs. But Easwaran's extraordinary 69 off 31 changed everything. His hitting kept the required rate under control and gave Nellai a chance when the wickets were disappearing. Deeban Lingesh and G Kishoor kept Kovai in the contest with three wickets apiece. Yet the final punch belonged to Nellai. From 119/7 to 163/8. From almost out of the contest to two wickets away from victory. What a chase. What a finish. What a game.
Rithik Easwaran (Player of the Match): (On batting through the wickets falling at the other end) "I believed that if I could stay until the end, and I had a partner with me, we could definitely get to the total. The trend of the tournament has been that if any batter can stay until the end, the team is achieving almost anything possible.

(On the responsibility of being vice-captain) I've been in this franchise for four years now, and they've given me the responsibility from when I was a very young kid in this team. That has kind of helped me step up this year even more, and I want to do better for the team.

(On the spectacular catch to dismiss Andre Siddarth) It was just pure instinct."
Player of the Match- Rithik Easwaran
Most Dependable Player of the Match- G Kishoor
Maximum fours of the match- Sachin B

Shahrukh Khan(Kovai Kings Captain)  - " (On the result) Obviously in a crunch game like this it can go either ways. We got the game till the end and that is one positive that we can take. Somewhere in the slog overs we could have nailed our lengths better. The wicket was a bit sticky and we could have bowled better. With the bat we would have preferred to get at least 15 runs more.

(On what they could have done better) With the ball we would have liked to get our lengths better as I said. But in a crunch game like this you can't miss your lengths especially when the batters in the opposing team are waiting to go big and the margins for error are too little. It was easy pickings for their batters towards the end.

(On the wicket and their batting) We have been batting well. The wicket was maximum a 175 wicket. It was a good one as we saw how how Nellai Royal Kings batted. We put on a good show with the bat and don't think we require any changes in the batting front. "
7:09 PM IST, LOCAL TIME: Some games are won by control, some by courage - this one was won by refusing to blink. Thrilling and Unforgettable. Nellai Royal Kings pulled off a stunning two-wicket win over Kovai Kings with just one ball remaining. Kovai posted a competitive 162/9 after a flying start and a late surge. Nellai, meanwhile, were in trouble at 43/2 in the Powerplay and 73/3 at the halfway stage. Then Rithik Easwaran arrived. His 69 off just 31 balls turned the chase on its head. Even after his dismissal with five needed from three balls, Nellai held their nerve. Sachin Rathi hit a crucial four on 19.4 and took his team home. One team had the runs. The other had the belief. In the end, belief won.
