Shubhang Hegde (Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters Captain):"(Everything fell in place today) Ya! It can be tricky these games but I think we came and turned up well today.
(On the partnership between Rohan Patil and KL Shrijith) It was simply superb. The shot they hit, the end they chose to attack was brilliant.
(What was your thought in the innings break?) I was speaking to the match referee and heard it can be a disadvantage for us. But it is good to be on the right side of the result.
(Were you pleased with the medium pacers today?) I think in these games, you are bound to get hit. I kept on telling the bowlers to focus on the next ball and keep holding the nerves.
(On your bowling) I think one of those days where everything fell into place."
Player of the Match: Rohan Patil
Time for the post-match presentations.
Smaran Ravichandran (Shivamogga Yodhas Captain): "(Where did it go wrong today?) Little bit with our bowling. We had the plans but the executions were a bit here and there. I am sure will bounce back stronger next game.
(Was it difficult for the batters to grip the ball?) It is always tough for the bowlers in a rain-curtailed game. We lost so many wickets in the middle but ended up with 120 in the 10 overs. It is harsh on the bowlers but that is the reality of the game. We should adapt to it.
(Was 136 gettable?) I think definitely. We lost a couple of wickets in the powerplay and ended up losing it by 16 runs. I think a wicket here and there would have turned the game in our favour."
11:28 PM IST and Local Time: Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters have made it two wins in two games to start their campaign in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026. They have outclassed the Shivamogga Yodhas by 16 runs in this rain-curtailed game.
The game was scheduled to start at 7 PM IST but the persistent rain earlier made the ground delay and the game eventually started after a 1 hour and 45 minutes delay from the scheduled time. Shivamogga Yodhas won the toss and decided rightly to bowl first in a rain-curtailed 14-over per side game..
The Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters batters did not let the toss to affect the game. Bhuvan Raju started hitting the balls at will right from the start and scored 23 off 13 balls before Shreesha Achar dismissed him. But the other opener Rohan Patil was joined by Krishnan Shrijith and they took the game forward by hitting some classy strokes. Shrijith and Rohan added 97 runs for the second wicket.
When the team score was 116/1 after the first 9.2 overs, one of the floodlights got off because of the malfunction of a generator. The game started after around half an hour and the game was further reduced to 10-over per side. Blasters eventually finished with 124 runs losing 1 wicket.
When the Shivamogga Yodhas came in pursuit of 136 runs as adjusted by the VJD method, their openers played some shots. Despite losing Tushar Singh, they got 27 runs on the board. But when the spin was introduced, they got a couple of jolts in successive deliveries. Praveen Dubey removed both Luvnith Sisodia and Smaran Ravichandran and reduced them to 27/3 in 2.2 overs. Aneesh KV played his shots but he got out scoring 12 off 6 balls.
Aadarsh Prajwal and Harshil Dharmani got the starts but failed to make it big. The fightback was started by Yashovardhan Parantap but by then, it was too late for the Shivamogga Yodhas to make a comeback. He took 32 runs from the final two overs with Abhilash Shetty contributing just 2 runs from the other end. Parantap remained unbeaten on 38 off 16 balls and Yodhas finished with 119/7 and lost the game by 16 runs.
Shubhang Hegde was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2 wickets for 9 runs. Praveen Dubey took 2 wickets for 24 runs. Shreevathsa Acharya chipped in 2 wickets for 34 runs. Samit Dravid conceded 27 from his 2 overs picking up the wicket of Tushar Singh.
