So that's goodbye from me, Anurag, and my partners Arjun and Kingshuk from the comm box. Do join us tomorrow for the CPL fixtures. Good night and take care!!
Rovman Powell " It has been a long time we haven't got a win. Important to get two points. The batting's been struggling. That was the most pleasing aspect today. We use him as a glue, ask him to bring out Test match experience in our batting lineup. Satisfying to watch Shamarh bat like that."
Chris Gayle " I say we lost the game due to our batting. Thought the bowlers did a brilliant job to pull back Jamaica to 170. After we lost two wickets, we lost momentum and left it late. It was par. Even if it was spinning, it's not that there were any demons. When your back's against the ball, need to dig to find a match-winning innings. Hopefully, we'll go onto win the next game"
Andre Russell "I've had a few games I should have done better, but I will donate this award to the team, and buy some drinks. A total team effort from everyone today. Happy that we didn't lose wickets in the first six overs. I'm not confident in my batting right now, but I hope we can go from strength to strength and I get my range back. Drinks for boys tonight"
Andre Russell wins the Man of the Match award for his fantastic all-round performance.
Earlier in the day, Jamaican Tallawahs posted a challenging total on a pitch that was doing all kinds of things. They needed someone to fire and they have stepped up as a unit and openers got them off to a decent start in the powerplay. After few quick wickets in the middle-overs, Russell and Brooks took the bowler’s to the cleaners at the death. Dominic Drakes came in at the death and produced a flurry of wickets at death and in the end, the Patriots did well to restrict Tallawahs under 170.

It was not the kind of start the Patriots wanted and lost the massive wicket of Evin Lewis in just the 2nd over. Gayle soon followed him to the dugout after failing to keep out a ripper from Green. Devon Thomas and Joshua de Silve brought up a solid 49-run partnership but the required run rate was always creeping up. Permaul came back to bowl the 15th over and took 2 wickets to put the game to bed.

The required-run rate went over 15 in the last 4 overs and all hopes rested on Allen and Drakes’ shoulders to take the Patriots home. Allen dealt some rustly blows at the death but eventually fell prey to a brilliant yorker by Dre Russ in the penultimate over. Stay connected for the post-match presentation.

And with that, we come to the conclusion of the 21st match of the 2021 CPL. St. Kitts and Patriots fail to chase the challenging total posted by the Tallawahs and lose the game by 22 runs. With this victory, the Tallawahs move one place above, taking over the 4th spot from Guyana Warriors to remain in contention for the knockout stages. This has been a team effort by the Tallawahs after so long and it will definitely boost their confidence going into the fag end of group stages.

4 FInished. Too little too late from Patriots. Full length ball into the stumps. McCarthy slices this through third man for four. Jamaica finally win a game and the relief shows up on their faces.
Almost. Russ almost ran out Jaggesar here. Phew. That went just over the stumps and the batter survives. The batsman would have been out by some distance.
