A complete performance from the Super Kings in front of their home crowd at the āBullringā and with this win, they qualify for the semi-finals. The Sunrisers, meanwhile, have to wait and hope that the other results go their way for them to qualify for the knockout stages.
Chasing 161 was a tricky task on this surface. The Sunrisers didnāt have the best of starts as Maheesh Theekshana cleaned up Adam Rossington in the second over on one. Gerald Coetzee picked up two wickets in his very first over as the Super Kings reduced the Sunrisers to 29/3 at the end of the powerplay. Temba Bavuma was joined by Aiden Markram and both started the recovery work.
