That's it from our coverage of the Irani Cup! The day 4 coverage was brought to you by the commentary duo of Ninaad Dixit and Dev Rajawat alongside scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Pant receives the Irani Cup and joins his teammates for photo ops and celebration! A fantastic come from behind victory from the Rest of India side to finish the game in a session and a half on day 4! Impactful performances from Smaran Ravichandran, Akash Deep, Mukesh Choudhary and then Mukesh Kumar sealing it with 6 wickets!
And the final takeaway? ROI were never perfect, but they were better when the game was on the line. J&K had the first-innings lead. They had a chance to control the match. They even had ROI eight down for 197. But Smaran changed that story. Then Mukesh Kumar closed it. The Irani Cup, once again, belongs to the Rest of India - for the 31st time.
For J&K, there will be lessons despite the defeat. The first-innings collapse cost them. The second-innings chase was even more damaging. They reached 54/1, but lost nine wickets for just 57 runs. ROI, meanwhile, showed the value of staying in the contest. Mukesh Choudhary's five-wicket haul in the first innings, Smaran's hundred in the second, and Mukesh Kumar's six-for at the finish gave them a complete team performance. When the match demanded someone to stand up, someone did.
Rishabh Pant (Rest of India Captain): "[on his health] After such a win, the fever goes away for sure.

[the plan in the 2nd innings] The plan was to bowl fuller. We were more back of a length in the first innings and we wanted to correct it. We did it and bowled fuller in this innings.

[on Smaran's knocks] The way he played in both the innings was outstanding. We were under pressure in the 2nd innings, the way he played was outstanding."
The Jammu & Kashmir players will now receive their medals. Rest of India side follows suit.
Smaran Ravichandran (Player of the Match): (On where his maturity comes from at the age of just 23) "I think I played the finals a lot back home in Karnataka, in the Under-23s as well. So I think some experience from there comes into when I'm out there batting. Obviously, Mukesh [Choudhary] was there with me, and he also played a very important part in that partnership. So I'm glad that we could get them in.

(On performing in big games) I don't think of it as a big game when I play. I just treat every game the same and look to give my best each and every time I step out there. I'm glad that on two big occasions I could contribute to the team's success and we ended up on the winning side.

(On what changed between the two innings) I think nothing much changed. In the first innings also, my approach was the same. It was just to play positive cricket and put pressure back on the bowlers. In the second innings also, I did the same, and I'm glad that everyone chipped in with some runs and we put a decent total on the board to defend in the fourth innings.

(On targeting deliveries outside off stump) I just noticed it as I was batting. I didn't really notice it when I was batting, but yeah, I think probably outside off is my strength. Anything that was loose outside off, I put it away for a boundary, and I think that's the way the game goes."
Player of the Match: Smaran Ravichandran
Paras Dogra (Jammu and Kashmir Captain): "[on Rest of India] They played really well. Lots of learnings for us. They bowled really well. Credit goes to Rest of India.

[on 1 bad innings deciding the game] I thought a lot. Credit goes to Smaran. No words to express it. Both Mukesh's and Akash Deep bowled really well.

[on J&K cricket] It all started when Mithun Manhas came and took the responsibility. Thankful to him for getting me here and giving me the responsibility of leading the side. Looking ahead for the upcoming season."
