Shahrukh Khan | The losing skipper: I thought we were going well with the bat. It was my duty to chase it down. I was the experienced one. It was a bit two paced at times but a good batting wicket. We had to get 163, that's it. I haven't spoke to Sai Sudarshan much. The run-out thing happens as it is a part of the game.
DG: Chasing 163, Kovai Kings were off to a worse possible start, losing opener Suresh Kumar for a golden duck. Ganga Sridhar Raju continued his good form in the tournament and accelerated the scoring rate. He played some delightful strokes towards the off side and pushed the Tamizhans bowlers on the backfoot. The dangerous Raju departed for 30, but laid a solid foundation for the explosive middle order batters. Venkatraman followed him soon and the onus was on the in-form Sai Sudharsan to take control of the game. The wily batter took his time early on and then started to clobber the Tamizhans bowling attack. He raced away to yet another fifty and looked all set to steer the Kings past the victory line. But his wicket brought a twist in the match and Tamizhans were right back in the mix. A late twist in the tale took place and skipper Mohammed kept his cool as he bowled at the right channels and picked up the key wicket of Mukilesh that ended Kovai Kings’ last hope in the match. In the end, the match went down to the wires and Tamizhans eventually were victorious by 2 runs.
DG: That’s the end of the match and after a few late hiccups, the Tamizhans have literally snatched the victory from the jaws of defeat. What a match we have witnessed here. A pulsating contest that ends with the Tamizhans clinching the victory on the last ball of the game.
