Anurag D: Well, that's it from the comm box, we will be back tomorrow with the live coverage of the 7th PSL match. Till then, Tata!!!
Imad Wasim after that disappointing performance said: I think it was a good game. We were short by 20 runs. Credit to Hales and in the end Asif Ali. It wasn't spinning and then it started spinning, that's why I brought him (Nabi) on late and he was the standout bowler for us. It is just the start of the tournament and we will come back strongly. Sharjeel batted brilliantly and showed his class today. A couple of overs went for runs and that happens in T20 cricket, nothing to worry about.
Shadab Khan on that spectacular victory: Feels great as a team. The team performed well and I need to step up as a bowler and a batsman in the matches to come. We need to rectify the small mistakes we're making, and although we are winning at the moment, we need to reduce these mistakes. We need to use Faheem's form. We wanted to give him as many balls to face as possible. Hats off to the way Asif Ali and Hussain Talat finished things off.
Alex Hales (MOM) : It was a really big chase for us. The pitch was getting slower as the game went on, and that's why I wanted to hit as many runs as I can in the powerplay. It got tougher as the game went on, the ball was getting slower and turning a lot. We backed ourselves in this chase and the last time as well and for guys to contribute is great. (On his drop catch)I hate making excuses, but I lost that ball just a bit in the lights.
Anurag S: Having a humongous task ahead of them Islamabad lost two early wickets in their inning and then Hales took the charge onto the Karachi bowlers hitting 29 runs in an over off Aamer Yamin before throwing his wicket away. After a firing start, Ifikhtar Ahmed and Hussain Talat took charge and worked the ball beautifully all over the ground for a partnership of 96 runs. Islamabad never lost the momentum and went on with the pace of the required run-rate till the very end of their innings. Facing Nabi was a bit challenging for both the set batsman until Asif Ali came and deposited his very first ball off Nabi into the stands showing everyone how it's done. Asif Ali picked the bones of Amir's bowling in the penultimate over and Islamabad ended up chasing 196 smoothly with 5 wickets in-hand and 5 bowls to spare.
