1:20 AM IST: Right then, India Legends are the champions in the second edition of the Road Safety World Series, they win the game by 33 runs and outplayed the Sri Lankan Legends in all the 3 departments today!! It was a fabulous tournament, it has come to an end and so has our coverage!! I am Ovaise Shariff signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Hope you enjoyed the coverage, Until next time, Stay Safe, do not forget to wear your helmet and seat belts!! Goodbye and goodnight!!
Sachin Tendulkar collects the trophy and then goes in front of the winners' board. The celebrations will go long into the night and they richly deserve it as they have won two seasons in a row.
Sachin Tendulkar (India Legends Captain): "Every trophy is important. The start wasn't great. Naman and Vinay's partnership set the momentum and then overall it was great for us. It was instinctive. I told Vinay to get ready when I got out and then once Suresh got out, I said go in and bat there. The move worked. Naman was great with the bat in the last two games. It gave him the confidence to keep well as well. I think the bowlers bowled well and bowled in challenging conditions. They bowled with dew accompanying them. I have always loved playing here and the players have given their best. Beyond the line, we have competed well. The message is to wear helmets, and wear seatbelts and that can save a lot of lives. There are guys that push each other with ill health but we push each other all the way. Good to play in this tournament."
Tillakaratne Dilshan (Sri Lanka Legends Captain): "Yes, I think it was chasuble. Unfortunately, the top order didn't click. When you are playing a big game, you have to be spot on in all the 3 departments of the game which we weren't today!! Naman Ojha played extremely well today and took the game away from us. Having a game in 24 hours to come and play also backfired on us, We have some 45 years old players and it's hard for them to recover quickly and be match ready."
Player of the tournament goes to Tillakaratne Dilshan
The best all-rounder of the tournament goes to Shane Watson.
People's choice award for the best player of the tournament goes to Sachin Tendulkar
The best bowler of the tournament goes to Nuwan Kulasekara
The best batsmen of the tournament goes to Naman Ojha.
The best catch of the tournament goes to Suresh Raina.
