Do join us on Tuesday. For now, this is the commentary duo of Darpan Tikiya and Akshay Bhide signing off. Special thanks to scorer Manish Bishnoi and Aman for bringing some intriguing stats around the game. Keep following CREX for more. See you soon!
But then, sport is about picking yourself back up, isn't it? Will they be able to put on a better performance in the 3rd T20I on Tuesday, October 20th? Also, what will be interesting to see is if India, having won the series, will make any changes. Will any of G. Kamalini, Prema Rawat, Minnu Mani or Jintimani Kalita get a game? We will find it all out together.
The 2nd T20I produced exactly what was expected before the start of the series — a lop-sided contest that India dominated. Zimbabwe had a bunch of positives to take from the opening fixture, but the way things panned out tonight must be deflating for them.
Shafali Verma (Player of the Match): "[Was it a batting masterclass from you and Mandhana?] Yeah, of course. What shots I'm trying to hit, it's going. Really happy with how I was executing. After today, I'll be able to sleep after the way I got out last game. I was just thinking about how to play today and it was good to execute.

[What were her plans while batting tonight?] In yesterday's match, I got out against the off-spinner and being a right hander, it's not a correct thing. Today, I was trying to bend a bit and time the ball. If I'm not getting four, just trying to get a single. Just trying to execute things which are going on in my mind.

[Which was her favorite shot tonight?] Today of course, as you said, over covers against the pacer. That one is my favorite and that gave me a lot of confidence.

[What changes has she made in her batting in recent times?] As I said, in 2025, when I sat back in my home, I thought what things I can improve. The first thing that came to my mind was consistency. I analyzed the Australian batters. Analyze how their batters bat. Just thinking about how I can score for the team and be consistent."

Smriti Mandhana (India Women captain): "(Her assessment of the game) It was a good one today. I felt that the bowlers were really at the mark today. Much better than the first game. They executed their slower ones, yorkers, bouncers really well. Spinners of course, Deepti and Shree. Niki coming in and picking those two wickets. Of course, we could have gotten better with the catching today. That's something we can be critical about.

(On bowling much fuller to the Zimbabwe batters tonight) We discussed about it. We had seen a few batters from Zimbabwe (before the series). But today (having seen them in person in the first match), we had much better plans. We knew how they bat. But then, you can plan as much as you can. But the bowlers have to execute it. Today, there were on the mark.

(On the run chase) Shafali doing her thing. In the powerplay, she was whacking. I was happy to give her a single. Whenever my chance came, I took it on as well. That's the brand of cricket we love to play and we will keep doing that."

Most fours of the match: Shafali Verma

Josephine Nkomo (Zimbabwe Women Captain): "[Your immediate thoughts after the game?] I thought that was batting masterclass from the Indian team. We just stood there and had to learn. There was no better place than watch that carnage.

[What according to you was the main difference between the first game and this?] I think the main difference was we didn't had a good start in the powerplay. Hopefully, we have a good start and the foundation in the next game and don't expose our bowlers.

[Areas to improve before the next game?] I think like I said before, there's a lot to learn. Just watch them how they batted. If we can take a leaf out of their book, it will be good."
