India mauled the Windies in Thiruvananthapuram by eight wickets with 50 balls to spare, breaking the record books tonight to wrap up one of the best ODI run chases in history by eight wickets and 39 balls in hand. With the series already bagged 2-0, India will look to test their bench strength in the next game, with the third and final ODI set to take place in possibly another graveyard for the bowlers. Both teams will take flight to New Chandigarh for the final ODI on October 3.
Phew! What a game it was tonight in Guwahati! 811 runs across both innings, 5 players going past the three-figure mark 3 from the West Indies and just two from India – but it's the hosts who take all the glory in the end. Who would have thought 405 would be a below-par ODI total? Rohit's joyful century and Gill's outrageous and record-breaking double hundred upstage the thunderous tons from John Campbell, Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo on a historic night that saw the second-ever highest successful run chase in ODIs.
