So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Ajay as we wrap up the coverage of this fixture alongside our scorer, Bishal Mandal.
Unfortunate news as Hong Kong have to depart the competition without featuring in a single ball in the Quarter-Final. Pakistan too would have preferred to have got some game-time ahead of their Semi-Final. They will face the winner of the 4th Quarter-Final between Bangladesh and Malaysia in Semi-Final 1 on October 1 for a place in the Gold-Medal match.
The weather will have implications on the 2nd Quarter-Final between India and Afghanistan which is scheduled to start at 10 AM IST (1:30 PM Local Time). It is likely that we won't see a ball played in that contest as well which means India will qualify for the Semi-Finals courtesy their higher rank.
5:18 AM IST, 8:48 AM Local Time: The first quarter-final between Pakistan and Hong Kong has been abandoned due to inclement weather. Pakistan have qualified for the semi-finals because of their higher seeding in the tournament. Hong Kong have been eliminated.
Just a reminder, folks: if we don't get any action in this game, Pakistan will qualify for the semi-finals as they are ranked higher than Hong Kong.
5 AM IST, 8:30 AM Local Time: As the forecast was for today, it is raining heavily at the moment and the toss has been delayed.
4:30 AM IST, 8 AM Local Time: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Quarter Final 1 of the ongoing Asian Games between Pakistan and Hong Kong.
I'm Ajay Pal Singh and I'll soon be joined by my co-commentator Karthik Raj, who along with our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal wil be taking you through all the live updates from this fixture.
