That marks the end of our coverage from the Saturday double-header. Hyderabad Kingsmen have finally got off the mark in PSL 2026 with two points. They have defeated the Karachi Kings by 4 wickets here. Karachi Kings have started the Karachi-leg of PSL 2026 with back to back defeats and will look for a redemption.
Hyderabad Kingsmen have just got a victory and they have another game tomorrow. Islamabad United will lock horns with them at 7:30 PM IST and 7 PM Local Time. Do join us for that game.
For now, this is Saptak Sanyal, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Manan Mehta, the statistician Mohammad Anab and the scorer/analyst of this game Raju Khariya. Good night.
Marnus Labuschagne (Hyderabad Kingsmen Captain): "(Importance of the first win) Yeah I think the games we played, the last three, we put in some good performances in snippets. However today we put all together. Hunain Shah in that last over was brilliant. Our bowlers bowled really well at the backend. And then Hassan with Niazi helped us with the bat and it was incredible.
(What was different in this game?) I think we held our nerves superbly today. We needed 10 runs and over in the last bit and the batters kept their cool and let the game come to them. We try our best to be smart and use match ups to our advantage. If we need to change any batting order or anything of that sort.
(Happy with the bowling performance?) I probably would have wanted to restrict them to a little less. I think Moeen came and gave them a lot of runs. However, during the night the ball does come on better. In the day it was holding up a bit but that was not the case in the night so fine."
Moeen Ali (Karachi Kings Captain):"(Was 188 a good score?) Yeah definitely. In the end, we thought we did well to get that score. I think our powerplay bowling was not great, obviously starting with me. Positive is we showed fight which we were missing in the last few games.
(On having too many bowling options) I mean I do not mind it. You just go with your gut feeling and back your bowlers. Abbas was outstanding tonight. I mean it is great to have this options but you also realize that everyone is not going to bowl their full quota.
(Did the shift from Lahore to Karachi changed things?) No it can happen. You can win three games in a row but that does not mean that you will qualify. We had a break of seven days which was probably not great for our team. Because we did have the momentum. But we have to comeback stronger and get the combinations right."
Hassan Khan (POTM): "(What he was thinking while going into bat) I want to thank the almighty for the win. When I went in Irfan was well set. So yeah, we thought that if we play right till the end we can chase this.
(On his knowledge about the conditions) I have played enough here so I try to share my knowledge with the boys, and the other Pakistani boys also share their inputs.
(The advantage of playing all over the world in leagues) Yes, playing around the world helps a lot as I have the experience of playing in different conditions. So yeah I tried to use that to my best today."
