Akshay: So that brings an end of today's coverage. Tata from me, Akshay Bhide and my colleagues AryaSekhar Chakraborty and Nikhil Kulkarni. Do join us tomorrow for another fascinating day of cricket. Bye Bye.
Ben McDermott: MOTM: We started pretty slow with the ball and with the bat as well. I was a bit shaky to start with, it was nice to catch it up in the end and get the boys home with a nice win. It was bit slower in the day. Sams got a few to grip. It was beautiful under lights. We were sitting last, we have jumped to third now. It's important to get the momentum going forward. Swing hard (key to hit sixes).
Ben McDermott is the Man of the Match for his blistering knock of 96 from just 56 balls.
Akshay: Earlier in the day, Handscomb won the toss and opted to Bowl first. The decision backfired as Hales got off to a flyer. He started taking on the Thunder bowlers from the word go. He along with Khawaja provided a good opening stand of 64 until Boland came and broke the back of the Thunder batting line up. He picked 3 wickets in a single over and the re-building phase for the Thunder started. Ferguson and Billings looked good as the latter brought up his fifty. Some lusty blows from Cutting and Sams in the end powered them to 177 which didn’t proved to be enough in the end. Boland was brilliant for them picking 4 wickets.
Akshay: The chase began on a worst note for the Hurricanes as Jacks was cleaned up by Milne on the first ball. D’Arcy Short too departed in the 3rd over trying to utilize the powerplay. Malan joined McDermott and both stitched a very good partnership. McDermott went berserk as he was striking the ball cleanly as a whistle and belted the Thunder bowlers all around the park. They took the Power Surge in the 11th over and it shifted the momentum towards them. 31 runs were scored in those 2 overs and the Thunder bowlers had no answers against them. Malan departed in the 13th over for 42 but it was no stopping McDermott as he kept clearing the boundaries with ease. He departed on 96 when they needed 13 runs but Handscomb ensured they got across the line.
Akshay: What a game we just witnessed. It was a batting masterclass from Ben McDermott as he just took the game away from Thunder in a no time. The ground was looking small for him as he was hitting massive sixes. He missed his century by mere 4 runs when he threw his wicket away. But he deserved a hundred today. His knock comprised of 8 fours and 5 huge sixes. With this win, the Hurricanes re-enter the top-4 with 23 points.

4 FOUR!!! There is the winning runs and an important win for Hurricanes. Back of a length ball outside off and the batsman makes room and cuts this one over the cover point region for a boundary. They move to the 4th position in the points table with 23 points.
17.5 Adam Milne to Peter Handscomb
4 FOUR!!! Full length ball outside off and Handscomb drives this to the long on region. The fielder at mid-on dives to save this one but couldn't get to the ball.
17.4 Adam Milne to Peter Handscomb
0 Four dot balls in a row! Fuller length outside off and Handscomb drives this straight back to the bowler.
