That's it from the coverage of this game. We will be back with more action from around the world in the coming days. Stay tuned to our network for all the actions from around the world. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Wali Siddiqui alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Glenn Maxwell (Player Of The Match): "My last four overs went for a lot of runs before today but a bit of rain helped me in today's fixture as the ball skidded of the wicket and it turned out to be my night. I was thinking about staying still and playing good cricket shots with the bat. There was swing but a little bit dew, once I got stuck it became a bit easier. Back to back wins it’s been a while after the way we started the tournament. We’re doing the right things and are waiting for the next game. I feel like I’m playing as good as I can, just hoping these little niggles go away and come prepared for the next one".
Player of the Match: Glenn Maxwell.
5:07 PM IST, 10:37 PM Local Time: So, we have had a rain reduced game in Hobart and it was a thriller in the end. It was skipper Glenn Maxwell who held their nerves to win the game by 7 wickets via the DLS method and climbs to 4th in the points table. They have played better than the Hurricanes and deserve the win in the end as Maxwell holds his nerve.

Let's recap as to how the match panned out in this rain reduced game. Glenn Maxwell won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Hurricanes lost Matthew Wade early. Wright played well for his 33 off 19 balls while Caleb Jewell held the innings together with his 45 off 37 balls. Sam Hain laboured his way to get to 11. Nikhil Chaudhary played well for his 32 off 16 balls and struck some meaty blows. Chris Jordan scored 11 off 12 balls while skipper Nathan Ellis scored 10 off 7 balls. 5 extras given by the fielding side as the Hurricanes were bowled out for 155 in 19.4 overs.

It was an excellent bowling display by the Melbourne Stars as most of their bowlers bowled well. Glenn Maxwell was the star with figures of 3/29 in 4 overs. Haris Rauf picked up 3 wickets for 24 runs in 3 overs. A wicket apiece for Joel Paris, Imad Wasim, and Usama Mir. Wasim and Mir were economical and gave nothing away to the Hurricanes batters.

Then the rain came in and halted the start of the chase by almost an hour. The match was reduced to 7 overs a side with the revised target for the Melbourne Stars being 67 runs. The Stars got off to the worst possible start as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Sam Harper, Marcus Stoinis, and Hilton Cartwright fell for ducks. But it was skipper Glenn Maxwell who stood tall with his 35* off 18 balls seeing through the innings. He was ably supported by Thomas Rogers who was unbeaten on 21* off 14 balls as the Stars recovered from 3 down for 6 runs to get to the target in the end with 3 balls left. 9 extras given by the fielding side.

The Hurricanes bowlers tried their best, but had to contend with the wet ball. A couple of wickets for Riley Meredith while Nathan Ellis got a wicket to his name as well. The others went wicketless as they had no answer to the Maxwell power.

So, a win for the Stars by 7 wickets under the DLS method as they climb upwards in the points table. Stay tuned to find out who is the Player of the Match.
6.3 C Anderson to G Maxwell
3 That's that as the Melbourne Stars have secured the win!! Anderson bowls it full and at middle, Maxwell changes grips and reverse sweeps that with power to the fielder at point as the ball deflects off his knee and then trickles to third-man. This gives them ample time to run three and win the game in the process.
3 needed off 4 balls now with Glenn Maxwell on strike. Can the Stars skipper finish with a flourish?
6.2 C Anderson to T Rogers
1 Bangs it short, not a lot of pace on it and that's been pulled to the fielder at deep mid-wicket on the bounce for one.
A crucial dot ball. 4 needed off 5 balls.
6.1 C Anderson to T Rogers
0 Anderson from over the stumps. Hits the length at off, runs his fingers through and Rogers punches the ball back to the bowler. A bit of a yes-no situation there.
