2:12 AM IST & 9:42 PM Local Time: That's the end of the contest! Middlesex make it back-to-back victories, registering just their third win of the season. A composed run chase sees Middlesex defeat Hampshire by five wickets here in Southampton.
Earlier in the day, Middlesex won the toss and elected to field first. Hampshire got off to a flying start as openers Toby Albert and James Vince put on a 60-run opening stand. The partnership was finally broken just after the Powerplay when Vince departed for 15. Middlesex seized the momentum by picking up two more wickets in quick succession, but valuable contributions from Ben Mayes (47* off 37) and Tristan Stubbs (24 off 23) guided Hampshire to 159/4, a total that looked slightly below par.
In reply, Middlesex lost Josh De Caires early, but Matthew Boyle and Max Holden steadied the innings with a superb 58-run stand for the second wicket. Middlesex reached 47/1 at the end of the Powerplay, with the pair putting Hampshire under pressure. However, Andrew Neal turned the game briefly in Hampshire's favour by striking twice in the ninth over, dismissing Boyle and Leus du Plooy in the space of a few deliveries.
At the halfway stage, Middlesex were 80/3, requiring another 80 runs from 60 balls. Holden anchored the chase beautifully, bringing up a composed half-century off 41 deliveries before top-scoring with 62 from 49 balls.

4 Here comes the winning runs! Middlesex beat Hampshire at their own backyard in Southampton💪. Streaky boundary but it does the job. Back of a length around the leg pole. The batter shimmies down the ground to pull and gets an inside edge deflecting to the left of the keeper and traversing towards the cushions. With an over left, the game is done and dusted in Middlesex's favour. A morale-boosting win for them.
