Anurag: That's all from the comm box. It was a pleasure bringing in the coverage of this match. We'll be back for the coverage of the final match on Sunday. Till then, bbye from me, Anurag Dasgupta, along with my co-commentators, Kingshuk Kusari and Aryasekhar Chakraborty.
Karan Sharma: It was a good toss to lose. The ball was sticking onto the pitch. We were just looking to bowl wicket to wicket. I was backing myself because I play that shot really well (on his dismissal). We will see the wicket and decide what to do in the final. I would like to thank the coaching staff, the management, my family and whoever has backed me and supported me throughout the tournament. The bowlers are executing their plans which is why we are successful.
Priyank Panchal: Initially after we lost 2-3 wickets we continued to lose wickets and couldn't come back after that. Had we taken the target to 240-250, it would've been difficult for them as well. We were confident about our batting, which is why we opted to bat first.
Anurag: At 45 for 3, Gujarat might have smelled a comeback, but all their hopes were dashed by Akshadeep Nath and Karan Sharma, as the duo added 89 runs for the fourth-wicket. Akshadeep Nath in particular looked in sublime touch. He was cautious in the beginning of his innings, and then played some gorgeous strokes to reach his half century. By the time Nath departed for 71, UP already had one foot in the final, and the rest of the runs were completed with little to no problem.
Anurag: Chasing a mere total of 185, UP were in a spot of bother when they lost their openers in quick succession. Young Priyam Garg played some exquisite shots and was looking in a good touch when the right hander was dismissed by a peach of a delivery by Tejas Patel.
Anurag: That's it, the match has ended and to no one's surprise, Uttar Pradesh are through to the finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It has been a thorough professional performance from the UP batters and they have won this match with 46 balls to spare.
42.4 Piyush Chawla to Upendra Yadav
4 Short of a length delivery on this occasion and Upendra Yadav finishes it off with a swat down the deep midwicket region. Finds the boundary and that's the end of the game. A relatively comprehensive victory in the end from Uttar Pradesh and they storm to the final of the tournament slated to be played on Sunday.
42.3 Piyush Chawla to Upendra Yadav
6 SIX!!!! that's another flighted delivery and Upendra Yadav throws the kitchen sink at it. Sits on his knees and executes the slog sweep to perfection. Times it to perfection and the ball goes well over the deep midwicket fence for a maximum.
42.2 Piyush Chawla to Sameer Choudhary
1 Tossed up outside off, Choudhary works this down the cover fielder for a single.
42.1 Piyush Chawla to Sameer Choudhary
0 Full tossed up on the stumps, Choudhary tries to thrash this down the ground, ends up hitting this from the inside part of the bat straight to the mid-on fielder.
