Niroshan Dickwella (Galle Marvels Captain): "We were 10 runs short I think. They played brilliantly in the powerplay and that was the difference. The ball was moving a bit initially. I think their bowlers bowled very well and bowled in the right areas. We have played good cricket and there are a lot of positives to take from this game."

Opting to field first, Jaffna were excellent with the new ball and kept the run rate under check. They were then a bit expensive in the middle and death overs. Azmatullah Omarzai was the pick of the bowlers for them and picked up 2/33 in their 4 overs.
With the bat, It was all about Tim Seifert for Galle Marvels. Their openers could not convert their starts then walked Tim Seifert who remained unbeaten on 104* and played one of the best innings of LPL. He was accompanied well by Rajapaksa at the other end who played a decent knock of 28 runs.
Coming to the chase, Jaffna Kings came out all guns blazing in the powerplay and played with a positive intent. Kusal Mendis played a lovely little knock of 30 off 16 at the top. Rilee Rossouw was also brilliant at 3 and scored 67 off just 42 balls.
In the end, Azmatullah Omarzai played a match winning cameo of 35* off just 13 balls which sealed the game for Jaffna. With the ball, Galle did pick up wickets but were expensive. Zahoor Khan was the top wicket taker and ended with the figures of 2/33.
