Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain & Player of the Match): [on his consistency] "To be honest, I was waiting for such a performance for a long time. My role is to contain in the middle. I am an attacking bowler. My son is pushing me, he wants to play with me. I put a lot of hard work into it. It's nice to see when it comes out the way you want to. I don't look at personal achievements, it's all for the team.
[on the variations] It was turning a little bit so I had to show my leggies, a few of them turned away. That plays in the batter's head. I have got a straighter one which I can bowl any time. The batters keep waiting for them and googly. The way the ball came out of my hand tonight was good, line and lengths were very good. The previous 2 games, I wasn't getting that kind of bite. Length was more important.
[on their bowling group] We had Nabi. Standards were really high. Mehidy bowled really well. He is a world class bowler. Excited to bowl with him and all the guys around him.
[on their depth] We've got 4 guys who can come anytime and they need just 4 balls to change the game. Sampson was one of them tonight. The way he hit the ball was incredible to watch. Shimron, Pretorius, Shamar can hit those sixes. That middle part is really, really solid.
[on the game against TKR & word on fans] The fans have always been there. Really grateful for them. They come every year in big numbers. Highly appreciate their support. When we play here, it's different than anywhere else and especially for me. That motivates me as well. Trinidad is a very good team. A good challenge again. We are looking at one game at a time. Both the sides need to come up with their own plans. We can't wait for the game and we want to deliver what we've been doing."

Roston Chase (St Lucia Kings Captain): "[Can you sum up your batting effort?] Not the total we were looking for. Initially, we were looking to post 150-160 because we knew that the wicket was going to be difficult looking at it. We know in Guyana, it is going to be spin-based but we lost too many wickets after the good start we had. We didn't capitalize on that and lost wickets in clusters. Never really got back into the game once we lost those wickets.
[On the fight from the bowlers] After we saw how the Guyanese bowled on that wicket, we thought that once we could limit them in the Powerplay and get some early inroads. We didn't get the inroads but still kept the scoring rate down. We still thought we were in with a shout once we got the run-rate up to 9 or 10. We got close there taking the run-rate to 9 but It is still going to be difficult to contain probably 9 RPO at the end with wickets in hand.
[Take-aways from the season] The bowling especially in the middle-overs, think that was the hallmark of our team. We weren't consistent with our batting which let us down through the tournament and also our fielding. If we grabbed our chances, could have gained a few more points.
[On Kamil Pooran's season] Outstanding season for him, first for him. I hadn't seen him before this, maybe once in a First-class game. I knew he has talent but didn't know he was this good especially in T20 cricket. Proud of him and expect big things to come."

7:43 AM IST, 10:13 PM Local Time: The Guyana Amazon Warriors confirm a number 1 finish in the points table with a thumping 4-wicket win against the St Lucia Kings that helps them move to 14 points with 2 matches still left to play.
Imran Tahir was the star of the show after losing the toss and asked to take the field. The 47 years old Warriors skipper wreaked havoc over the Kings batting order picking up 5/17 in his 4 overs, Mehidy Hasan Miraz on his CPL debut claimed 3/13. Kamil Pooran top scored with 43, Obus Pienaar scored an important 35 to help St Lucia Kings cross the 100-run mark to finish with 119 in 18.5 overs.
Guyana Amazon Warriors didn't get the start they needed with the powerplay score of 23/1 being the lowest of the lot this season. Mavendra Dindyal was the first batter to be dismissed in Roston Chase's first over.
Glenn Phillips held one end and added 53 runs for the 2nd wicket with Shai Hope (21 off 31) in 9.4 overs. Maheesh Theekshana broke the stand with a carrom ball cannoning into Phillips's off stump with the opener hitting 37 off 40 with 2 fours and a six on his comeback and eventually was the joint top scorer for the team at the end of the innings.
