That’s all from me, Omkar Iyer, and it’s been a pleasure bringing you the action alongside Abhishek Sharma and Mohammad Anab, with Ashok Dayma keeping us covered on the scoring and analysis. Thank you for being with us, and until the next game, keep enjoying the CPL action. ADIOS!
The CPL action continues shortly, with Barbados Tridents taking on St Lucia Kings in the next game. The action gets underway at 4:30 AM IST / 7 PM local time, so make sure you switch tabs and join us for live coverage of that contest.
That brings us to the end of our coverage of this one. Guyana Amazon Warriors make it six wins in a row, chasing down 129 with seven wickets in hand to remain unbeaten in CPL 2026 and book their place in the playoffs, taking Antigua & Barbuda Falcons along with them. For the Patriots, it was a tough outing after a promising run of form, as their batting never really got going.
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "(About qualifying for the playoffs) Yeah, look, I’m just really proud of the boys. We’ve been playing really good cricket in all departments. Maybe now and then we lose a little bit of grip, but then anyone can come in and be a hero, and I think that’s been the story so far in our group.

As I said before, we enjoy each other’s success, and when we go out and do our work, we do it very sincerely because we know that we’re obviously representing this beautiful franchise. You know, we’ve been looked after really well, and fans come and support us from all over the world. So, these are the things we always have to think about and not take for granted. I know we’re nicely sitting at the top, but again, the day after, there is another challenge. We have to think about it and make a plan for how we need to go about it.

(Thoughts on Mohammad Nabi) Yeah, look, he’s been an absolute legend. He’s one of the best off-spinners in world cricket at the moment, and that’s the reason we got him. He can bat, he’s a really good slip fielder, and he’s been really good with us, sharing his knowledge. The way he’s been bowling has been brilliant. Even from the Global Super League till now, his lengths have been so good. He never misses anything in any game. So, look, his performances speak for themselves. But we really love having him here, and we’re really going to miss him.

(On Rahmanullah Gurbaz's batting) I did try sometimes to convince him to play the way we wanted. He didn’t listen! So, look, Gurbaz is one of those players. He’s got all the shots in the book, and he likes to play his own way. I think sometimes we have to have that faith and give him the freedom to play how he wants to play.

We know that if Gurbaz plays five or six overs, the opposition will be in trouble. So, I think he’s been playing beautifully. He’s also been with us for a month and a half. He had to go back and play for Afghanistan against Ireland in the series they had, but look, he came back, and he’s in form. The guy is playing a beautiful role for our team, and I think I just want him to play however he wants to play."
Jason Holder (St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Captain): "(On SKNP's batting effort) Yeah, I think we were probably 20-25 runs short. You know, once the initial wicket fell, we were always in the game with the ball. They obviously bowled well. They were able to restrict us to 128, which I think was a little bit below par. I think anywhere around 145-150 would have been a decent total.

(Any regrets on batting first) Well, I mean, if a lot of us had to decide in hindsight, we'd probably make a few different decisions. But, you know, I said I was satisfied with the decision at the toss. As I said before, maybe just 20-25 runs short, and I think we were well in the game.

(On SKNP's bowling effort) Yeah, not too bad. You know, it's always tough defending an under-par score. I thought the bowlers gave a really good effort. We probably gave up a little bit of a flyer in the powerplay. If we had limited the boundaries and the damage in the powerplay, it would probably have been a different game. Maybe the 128 would have stretched a little bit further. Not sure if they would have got us across the line, but I know we could have fought a little bit better.

(How can the batting approach on this surface have been better?) I think we were one or two partnerships short. I think this is the kind of wicket where you need to at least have a couple of 40-run partnerships. Maybe not looking for 60-70-run partnerships, but maybe two 40-run partnerships and try to stretch the game a little bit further. It's not a wicket where you can come in and easily just get going from ball one. I think it's one where you have to really graft. It bounces a little bit low, so it's just one of those wickets where you've got to pay a little bit more attention and give yourself a little more time.

(On bringing Jeremiah Louis very late in the attack) Look, I felt the spinners were doing a really good job for me. Wando [Hasaranga] started with the wickets. Obviously, Navin came in and got some wickets as well. Ashmead is probably the local boy here, and obviously, with the left-arm spinner against the two right-handers, we felt it was a good matchup. I felt this game would have been one where you relied on your seamers at the back end. I think the back end would have been the time for the seamers to come in and quite finish the game. But, again, probably 20-25 runs short. Had we had that, maybe Jeremiah would have come in with a better scenario at the back end.

(On the last league game) Yeah, definitely looking forward to going to Barbados and playing the last game. We had good success. We're still in the tournament. It's just a matter for us to close the tournament well for us personally. I guess we've got a fairly even game in terms of seeing how the table goes, but our first priority is to win that game."
Mohammad Nabi (POTM): "(About his bowling performance today) Also, I love bowling in the Caribbean because it’s a little bit slow, and it suits me. Whenever I come to the CPL, I always perform well with the ball. This year, I also focused on bowling the right line and length and knowing the conditions—where I should bowl and where to bowl the ball. This year has been successful, and I bowl depending on the situation.

(On bowling according to the situation) Yes, sir, it depends on the situation and the captain. Sometimes he uses me in the powerplay. Also, in the Global Super League, I bowled in the powerplay as well. This year, in a few games, I’ve bowled in the powerplay. And after the powerplay, when the ball is a bit older, it depends on the situation and which variation I should bowl—whether slow or fast. It all depends on the situation.

(Enjoying the experience with GSW) Lovely franchise. I’ve really enjoyed my time here over the last one and a half months with Guyana. The environment is really good, both on and off the field. They support me a lot, and there are also a lot of youngsters in the team. They learn a lot, and I share my experience with them as well."

3.56 AM IST & 6.26 PM Local Time: GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS WIN THE MATCH BY 7 WICKETS & CONFIRM THEIR SPOT IN THE PLAYOFFS! Guyana Amazon Warriors have continued their unbeaten run in CPL 2026, chasing down 129 with seven wickets in hand to beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and secure their place in the Qualifiers. It is now six wins in a row for the Warriors, who remain the only unbeaten side in the competition and continue to look like the team to beat.
Guyana's chase began with a bang as Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashed 39 off 25, giving the Warriors the perfect platform. Mavendra Dindyal added 17 off 16 before Shai Hope and Mohammad Nabi took control. Hope remained unbeaten on 34 off 41, while Nabi struck an unbeaten 25 off 21 to see the Warriors home in just 18.3 overs. The Patriots did manage three wickets, but the target was never quite enough to put the Warriors under sustained pressure.
The Patriots’ bowling attack never really managed to build enough pressure on this slow surface. Navin Bidaisee was the pick of the bowler with two wickets for 20, while Wanindu Hasaranga chipped in with a wicket. However, the decision to hold Jeremiah Louis back was perhaps a missed opportunity. After his sensational 5/10 in the previous game, Louis was only introduced in the 17th over, by which point Guyana needed just 12 runs. He finished with 0/11 from his one over, leaving us to wonder if the Patriots could have used their in-form bowler earlier to put the Warriors under some pressure.
