We are done with the group stage games of the Global Super League 2026. Guyana Amazon Warriors lost this game by 15 runs and the middle order collapse is something they can take as a wake up call before appearing for the grand finale on Saturday night. Perth Scorchers XI have made a cracking comeback to end their journey on a sweet note.

Ashton Turner (Perth Scorchers XI Captain): "(What was the point of difference tonight?) I think probably we lowered down our expectations a little bit. Earlier we used to think that 160 or 180 would have been good. But today we lowered that expectations as we knew that 120 would have been good as we saw last day. Credit to our lower order for playing nicely. Bowlers used the conditions very well.
(How critical was the partnership between Brody Couch and Dian Forrester?) I mean Couchy probably surprised his teammates. We have not seen him to get much opportunities with the bat in T20. But that's why you put in all the hard works behind the scenes because you do not know when will the opportunity come. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
(On bowling just one over of seam) Brody was soar after batting so we did not have much options. Because we were out of the tournament, Jhye was also rested. We knew that if the surface was anything like last night, we were to bowl 20 overs of spin. We bowled much with pace earlier in the tournament. That was really condition dependent.
(On the takeaways) We feel very fortunate to being invited to come here. The hospitality of the Guyana people was amazing. We were looked after well.

One of the guys came out and played shots to score 43 very quick. On a pitch like that, you have to show intent and bravery and I think they showed that, they had that one big partnership. We had the same thing but we are not learning, this is the story in the whole competition. It is something to think about going forward.
[Were the dismissals because of the bowling or the conditions?] To be honest, I don't want to say it's the conditions. We have enough experience playing around the world. We know these are tough conditions. When you come to Providence, you prepare for it. Like I said, this is not the first time we are collapsing in the middle. We have one game, we don't want to let the chance go as we have worked very hard to get there.
[Your take following the outcome of the match] Look again, don't take things for granted. We will have a chat, we will discuss why we are not doing well in the middle. This is something we have to talk about. We are working very hard. There were some great efforts from the boys. Player of the Match: Brody Couch
7:52 AM IST and 10:22 PM Local Time: The almighty could not have scripted a better redemption story. Perth Scorchers XI came into this game on the back of a hat-trick of defeats. They slumped to 78/8 before Brody Couch and Dian Forrester's death over assaults propelled them to 135. When Rahmanullah Gurbaz ran a carnage, it seemed that the game would be finished early. But the Scorchers' spinners triggered a collapse and Guyana Amazon Warriors could score only 121 before Hetmyer chopped one onto his stumps. Perth-based franchise finish the tournament with a brilliant victory in their final game.
Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and opted to bowl first. On a turning track, Imran Tahir used his pacers early with the new ball. His ploy to bowl Matthew Forde for three overs in tandem worked magically as he removed Sam Fanning (9), Andre Fletcher (10) and Usman Khan (0). Mohammad Haris' brilliant glovework ran Joel Curtis (3) out and the Scorchers lost four wickets inside the powerplay. Their skipper Ashton Turner was perplexed by Gudakesh Motie and they were reeling with 41/5 in the 7th over.
Dian Forrester and D'Arcy Short had to rebuild from scratch. They added 35 runs for the 6th wicket where Short played an anchoring knock of 12 runs off 18. Forrester took his chances in their 36-ball stand. Mohammad Nabi came to bowl the 13th over and his arm ball trapped Short in front of the leg stump. Then he used his classical off-breaks perfectly to hit the off stump of Ashton Agar and Akeal Hosein. Scorchers were 78/8 and Brody Couch walked in.
Couch started taking the bowlers on right from the start of his innings and he played very effortlessly. He and Forrester added 54 for the 9th wicket and Couch himself scored 43 off 30 balls. He hit 4 fours and 3 sixes to help his team get to a respectable score. Forrester remained unbeaten on 35 off 34.
For the Amazon Warriors, Mohammad Nabi was the star of the show with his 3/12 in his 4 overs. Matthew Forde was brilliant with the new ball and picked up 3 wickets for 21 runs. Dwaine Pretorius and Gudakesh Motie took a wicket apiece.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Quentin Sampson came to open the batting and Gurbaz took the onus on himself. He tonked Akeal Hosein for 13 in the first over of the innings and Ashton Agar went for 23 in the second over. The asking rate was dragged below run-a-ball after the completion of the second over and Perth Scorchers XI became desperate for a wicket. They brought in Dian Forrester in the attack and Gurbaz mistimed one towards deep midwicket. Sam Fanning and Andre Fletcher took a good relay catch to get the better of Gurbaz. His 42 off 15 set the tone to finish the run chase early but his fellows failed to take the opportunity.
Quentin Sampson was knocked over by Ashton Agar and Johnson Charles had a struggling time in his stay. He played 15 balls and hit two boundaries to score 11 before Ashton Turner bowled him. Usman Khan was trapped in front by the Scorchers skipper and a brilliant review from the fielding side overturned the initial not-out decision.
Guyana Amazon Warriors' batters could have managed themselves well but they ended up doing some hara-kiri in the middle. Mohammad Nabi went for an unnecessary second run and perished as run out. Romario Shepherd (7) could have played out Sufiyan Muqeem but went to hit him and the googly knocked him over. Dwaine Pretorius tried playing an expansive off drive off D'Arcy Short and the ball sneaked through the bat and pad gap to hit the stumps. Matthew Forde played a silly lofted off drive off Ashton Turner and found the long-off fielder. Only Gudakesh Motie's wicket came off a genuine wicket taking delivery but sans that, the lower middle order batters had only themselves to blame for their wickets.
As Shimron Hetmyer understood that he would run out of partners, he swung his bat for big hits. Andre Fletcher's dropped catch gave him a reprieve and he moved to 31 off 28 from 14 off 20. He hit two boundaries and a maximum in those 8 balls. Turner brought back Agar for the 17th over as Scorchers had only one wicket to take to wrap things up and Hetmyer inside edged one to his stumps in the very first ball. Imran Tahir remained stranded at the other end as Guyana Amazon Warriors got bundled out for 121.
