That marks the end of our live coverage from the 6th match of the National T20 2026. In a rain-curtailed 10-over per side game, Lahore Region Whites have emerged out victorious over the Faisalabad Region by 6 wickets chasing 107 runs.
For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Darpan Tikiya and the scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Good night.
Aamir Jamal (Lahore Region Whites captain): "Yes, I am satisfied. I was a little bit disappointed with myself. I will put my hand up for that over (where he conceded 25 runs). But it is a part of the game. But as a team, the way the boys showed character was great. Akhlaq was really good.
We always had the confidence that we can chase it with an over to spare. Yes, we stretched it a little bit towards the end, but happy to win. So far, so good from all of them. I need to improve in bowling. But otherwise, fielding-wise, batting-wise bowling-wise, everyone has done their job."
Irfan Khan Niazi (Faisalabad Region Captain):"(What could have you done better as a team?) Definitely when you lose, you always think with regret that we could have done this or could have done that. But I think the boys have done well and it was a good game.
(Was batting first a good decision winning the toss?) At that time I think it was a good decision. Rain was there and I thought if the ball stays wet, we might get some help. Because moisture would've affected in the second innings.\
(On the hope) Hope is always there as a player. If we get out of the tournament, there will be efforts to play good cricket."
Mohammad Akhlaq (Player of the match): "The situation was tailor-made. It became a T10 game. I just had to play my natural game. When we lost 2-3 wickets quickly, there was some tension, but I told myself that I am going to finish it. Thanks to the almighty we were able to get over the line.
Player of the Match: Mohammad Akhlaq
1:58 PM IST and 1:28 PM Local Time: Finally, the long day comes to an end. A delayed start to the match because of rain was followed by another couple of rain interruptions that had delayed the game and at the end of the day, Lahore Region Whites are victorious. They have defeated the Faisalabad Region by 6 wickets.
After a rain delay of almost an hour and 15 minutes, the official play commenced. The Faisalabad Region won the toss and opted to bat first, as it was better to put runs on the board with further rain prediction being present. The openers Muhammad Faizan and Atiq-ur-Rehman took on the Shah brothers to catapult the score to 24 from the first two overs. Ahmed Daniyal was greeted with a maximum in the next over but he got the better of Atiq and Awais Zafar in consecutive balls and in the first ball of the fifth over, he removed Muhammad Faizan for 21. Faisalabad were reduced to 42/3 when the second rain interruption came in. After the game commenced, they lost Asim Ali Nasir and Irfan Khan Niazi came out to bat together and both of them got out for 11. Asim was run out and Ubaid removed the Faisalabad skipper Irfan. Mubasir Khan was the reason the Faisalabad Region could get past the 100-run mark. Aamir Jamal's first over went for 26 runs and he hit the Lahore Whites skipper for three sixes and a boundary in that. He got out to Ubaid scoring 26 off 10 and another rain interruption came with Faisalabad being 105/7 after 9.5 overs. We had another rain break of 22 minutes and Faisalabad came to bat for one ball to complete their 10 overs. They took a leg-bye single off that to finish with 106/7 on the board.
For LRW, Ahmed Daniyal took 3 wickets for 17 runs bowling 2 overs. Ubaid Shah took 2 wickets and Mohammad Rameez took a wicket.
Coming to chase the run, Mohammad Akhlaq and Mohammad Faiq had some difficulties to deal with the pacers but Akhlaq found three boundaries off Zaman Khan in the second over. In the next over, he smacked Khurram Shahzad for two boundaries and a maximum to help his side post 34 off the powerplay.
His partner Mohammad Faiq went hammer and tongs against Mohammad Zeeshan in the fifth over. He took 26 runs off the first 5 balls before getting dismissed on the final ball. He played 13 balls to score 32 runs. Tayyab Tahir then joined Akhlaq and they had a tough time against the Faisalabad spinners. Spinners gave 21 runs away in their 3 overs out of which Mubasir Khan took 2 wickets for 11 runs. Mubasir removed Tayyab and Mohammad Mohsin on back to back deliveries.
Farhan Yousaf hit a maximum in the penultimate ball of the penultimate over and took a single later to bring the equation down to 2 off the final over. Faizan bowled the final over and dismissed Mohammad Akhlaq for 48 on the third ball. Akhlaq top-scored for his side, playing 28 balls, hitting 8 fours and a maximum. Aamir Jamal finished the game with a boundary.

4 THRASHED FOR FOUR! The captain finishes it off with flamboyance. He stood with a firm base, allowed the pace-off ball the time to come to him. No hurry, no worry. On a length, outside off. Jamal heaved it powerfully towards cow corner. Lahore Whites win by 6 wickets.
