Milestone
That is it from this T20 Blast fixture between Northamptonshire and Essex, as the home team beats Essex comfortably by an enormous margin of 130 runs and extends their firm lead at the top of the table.

Signing off, this is me Abhishek Sharma, with my co-commentator Rajarshi Das alongside scorer Chandan Kumar Singh.

We will be back soon with another thriller of a match, until then BYE BYE, TAKE CARE!!!
1:29 AM IST, 8:59 PM Local Time: A dominant win for the Northamptonshire to continue their winning streak to seven games as they defeat Essex by a huge margin of 130 runs.

A dominating display with both bat and ball for the Northamptonshire players. Starting off the bat, the top-order batters were brilliant with Chris Lynn and David Willey leading the runs chart with score of 75 and 65 respectively. And they were firmly supported by the other batters with the likes of Ricardo Vasconcelos and Justin Broad to setup a mammoth total of 238 runs for the Essex batters. The Essex bowlers looked completely off colour as failed to put any significant pressure on the high-power batting lineup of Northamptonshire.

It was never going to be an easy chase for the Essex batters, but it got worse with Ben scalping two early wickets at the start. Essex continued to loose wickets at regular intervals and never looked like they were in control of the chase. But the biggest setback for Essex batters came in the form of Calvin Harrison who just rattled through their batting lineup finishing with the figures of 2.2-0-9-5. It was just the matter of time as Northamptonshire bundled out Essex for just 108 runs.

Essex have been handed over their third loss of the season and a big one which might make them reassess about their plans ahead.
A maiden 5-wicket haul for Calvin Harrison in T20s and what a moment for the leggie!!!
He took just 14 deliveries to reach this milestone and this would give him some confidence going forward.

W Knocks him over, and THAT IS THAT! Tossed up on a leg-stump line with plenty of flight, Bennett saw it above his eyeline, his eyes lit up, and he went for an almighty hoick. The only problem was that he swung at the wrong line, missed, and the ball found its way to the leg stump, pegging it back! A comprehensive, statement win, this, for the Northants - their seventh win on the trot, and they remain unbeaten in the 2026 T20 Blast!
Charlie Bennett arrives at the crease at No.11.
