2:15 AM IST & 9:45 PM Local Time: Essex get over the line in a nail-biter in Chelmsford. They beat Glamorgan by 2 wickets and 8 balls to spare to get their second win of the T20 Blast 2024.
Earlier in the match, after opting to bowl Essex Eagles restricted Glamorgan to 166 for 8. Colin Ingram scored a fine half-century. Kiran Carlson and Marnus Labuschagne also contributed with fine knocks.
Daniel Sams was the pick of the bowlers for Glamorgan, finishing with 3 for 28. Paul Walter also got 3 wickets.
Essex, in the run chase, got off to a flying start thanks to Adam Rossington. The wicketkeeper batter made 48 off 24.
Mason Crane and Marnus Labuschagne brought Glamorgan back in the contest by picking wickets in the middle overs and keeping things tight.
Crane finished with figures of 4 for 25 from his 4 overs. Labuschagne took 3 for 35. In the end, Shane Snater and Luc Benkenstein played quick-fire knocks to take Essex over the line.
Snater was unbeaten on 20 off 21 while Benkenstein was not out on 35 off 21 to help Essex secure their second win.
