That's it from today's coverage of MPL 2024 match betweenRatnagiri Jetsand Eagle Nashik Titansfrom the MCA Stadium in Pune.
I am Gourav Samal, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Aditya Agarwal and Hrutuja Deshmukh and our scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Thanks for joining us. Stay tuned for all cricketing actions around the world. Good Bye.
Prashant Solanki (Captain Eagle Nashik Titans)- "We got wickets in the powerplay which helped us to build the pressure. But we couldn’t keep the momentum with us towards the end of the innings. The batters are doing their job quite well and Mukesh Choudhary was exceptional for us in today’s match. Last time we couldn’t defend it in the second innings but today we did well to win the match."
Atharva Kale (POTM) - "I always like to contribute towards my team winning. Whether it be with the bat or in the field. We back each other and motivate our teammates so that we can be positive on the field. I always look to play conventional shots and have worked really hard on it. I would like to dedicate this innings to my father who has always backed me no matter what."
Azim Kazi (Captain Ratnagiri Jets)- "We gave a good fight towards the end of the innings. We couldn’t execute the bowling as per our plan that’s why we gave away 20 more runs, which was the difference at the end. If we lose two wickets in the first over of the innings, then it will always be difficult to chase down such a total. Sahil Churi has been practicing hard in nets and that paid off today for him with the bat. We will have a discussion about what went wrong and will come back with a better performance in the next match if we get into the next stage."
17:50 IST and Local Time | Eagle Nashik Titans win the match by 21 runs.
Put into bat by Ratnagiri Jets, the ENT lost Mandar Bhandari too early, but Arshin Kulkarni and Sahil Parikh put on a steady partnership of 43 runs for the second wicket.
After the dismissal of Sahil, Atharva Kale joined hands with Arshin and built on an excellent 78 run partnership for the third wicket. Ranjit Nikam and Dhanraj Shinde's comeo helped the ENT to post a mammoth 208 on the board. Atharva Kale top scored with 65 off 33 deliveries.
Chasing 209, Ratnagiri Jets were never really got closer to the required run rate. They lost both their openers to Mukesh Chaudhary. Azim Kazi and Divyang Hinganekar then stitched on a steady 41 run partnership for the fourth wicket. But few quick wickets in the middle overs meant that they were way behind in the game.
The ENT spinners were right on the money with their line and length. Prashant Solanki picked up 3 wickets while Akshay Waikar picked up 2 wickets. Sahil Churi blasted a 16 ball half century in the end but it was quite late for the Ratnagiri Jets.
