That's it from our rain-filled coverage of the abandoned 2nd WODI between England and New Zealand! Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
9:13 PM IST, 4:43 PM Local Time: MATCH ABANDONED! The rain has picked up pace and the umpires have decided to call off the game.

The rain continued playing hide & seek throughout the day, the toss was pushed 3 hours back from the scheduled time, the play was to resume 30 minutes after the toss with play reduced to 32 overs per-side.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl, an unchanged lineup. England made 2 changes with Alice Capsey and Sophie Ecclestone returning to the side. Rain arrived right after the toss and it continues to pelt down. The cut-off time for a 20-over fixture was 5:38 PM, with under an hour to go it would have been impossible for the ground to be prepared; hence the match has been called off.

The third WODI will be played at Cardiff on May 16.
9:10 PM IST, 4:40 PM Local Time: Rain has arrived again and how! It is pelting down, it has got very very dark as we approach another inspection time which of course will be pushed back further.
8:56 PM IST, 4:26 PM Local Time: The rain has stopped, the covers are slowly being moved. The umpires are inspecting the outfield. Still plenty of dark clouds hovering above. The next inspection will take place at 4:42 PM Local Time (9:12 PM IST). We continue losing overs as well.
8:40 PM IST, 4:10 PM Local Time: The next inspection is scheduled at 4:20 PM Local Time/8:50 PM IST. The rain has stopped, the covers are still in position.
8:20 PM IST, 3:50 PM Local Time: The rain has strengthened into a hailstorm! More covers continue to be pushed on the ground as I type this update. Just 10 minutes to the rescheduled start of play - looks like we'll have another delay.
8:14 PM IST, 3:44 PM Local Time: Scratch the previous update (AGAIN!). The rain has returned, hide & seek continues. The covers are back on the pitch and the square. Umbrellas are up in the stands as it is pelting down.
8:10 PM IST, 3:40 PM Local Time: The rain is retreating and the umbrellas are closing down. Some players can be seen warming up on the outfield. The covers are slowly coming off.
8:06 PM IST, 3:36 PM Local Time: The rain is back. Just as the toss got over, the groundsmen rushed in with covers. It's pretty windy as well. Hopefully, it will blow away the dark clouds.
Pitch Report (Charles Dagnall): "It has started drizzling but let's quickly have a look at the pitch. It’s absolute rock hard. 8mm of grass has been left on it. The pitches here in Northampton are notoriously good for one-day cricket. I was speaking with the groundsmen and they said it has got pace and carry and grass to hold it together. Just as we head over here, it is starting to rain, but outfield is dry as a bone. The super sopper has mopped it up nicely. Even if it rains, it won't be long before we start."
