We are done with a highly gripping and exciting group stage. Number 1 ranked 'Edinburgh Castle Rockers' have made it to the final directly. They will await the winner of the Qualifier and play them in the grand finale on Sunday.

So, then who plays in the Qualifier?

Number 2 ranked 'Amsterdam Flames' will take on number 3 ranked 'Belfast Wolves' on 19th September at 6:45 PM IST (2:15 PM Local Time). Do join us on time for the live coverage.
Well, well, well! If you cannot qualify, do not let the other too. That was the incentive for the Dublin Guardians, and they did really well to end a disappointing campaign on a high. They gave their skipper, Ravi Ashwin, the perfect 40th birthday gift. This is something they can build on and come stronger for the next season.

Spare a thought for the Rotterdam Dockers. They have exactly the same W-L ratio as the three qualified teams. It is just that big & untimely losses from time to time in the event derailed their NRR so much so that a win was needed at the bare minimum today for them to qualify. They could not notch it up and crashed out of the event. Something to learn for them as well and they would love to come back stronger next summer.
Harry Tector (Dublin Guardians captain): "(On his feelings about how they finished) Delighted. Was a real team effort - the way the guys hung in with the ball in challenging conditions was fantastic. To limit them to a score of 180 was pretty good on this surface, with the dimensions and the win, then the way Vince came and batted was obviously exceptional; we managed to chip in around him. Just delighted to finish the season on a high.

(Why so good today?) We've done really well this season, stayed together as a group, but the results haven't gone our way, which is disappointing. We've managed to keep a really good core throughout the season. Disappointed with the results, but we're really happy with the way the team has stuck together, and delighted that we brought that out today.

(On discussions at the break today) We definitely spoke about trying to use the wind and the dimensions to our advantage. The way Vincy played that sixth over was fantastic - world-class batting. That over pretty much set us up to go chase it at 8 an over, and we managed to elongate that period till 10th or 11th and everyone who came in to support Vincy. Feel we particularly won it in the sixth over.

(On staying together and the lessons) You want the group to stay together, because this is a tournament that's going to keep going for years. Hopefully, we can keep the core group together, which is very important. We've done that really well, and had a good time on and off the pitch, that gives a lot of belief to the group that we weren't so far from the comp. Nice way to finish.

(On the local guys' experience) Just the exposure to a higher level of cricket is brilliant to all groups of local players, Irish, Scottish or Dutch. To be able to mix with some of the best players in the world is fantastic. I was saying to one of the lads this morning that you don't need to ask questions, just see the way they go about their business, personally watching James Vince do that today, you can learn an awful lot. It's been brilliant on that aspect, and long may that continue."
James Vince has been adjudged Player of the Match! Harry Tector collects it on his behalf.
Faf du Plessis (Rotterdam Dockers captain): "(Reflection on today) Yup, one guy. James Vince scored 85 percent of the runs in the innings. Sometimes you got gotta tip your hand to a guy playing a world-class knock. The team at the top and at fourth have the same points. Competition is very stiff, less margins, 6 out of ten games win, Net Run Rate got us till here, but if you look at the rest of the performance, take James Vince out of it, there's not much else.

(Anything they could have done differently?) Don't think so - I think we were put under pressure early doors, losing quite a few wickets, consolidated nicely, and walking off I thought it was a good score with a bit of extra bounce there. Can look at many things in the match and think, what about that, what about that. Faultless innings from James Vince today, single-handedly won them the game.

(On the adverse pitch conditions) Yeah, rub of the green - sometimes you have it, sometimes you don't, there were a few lucky runs today. The highlight of the day will be that innings. Klaasy played a great knock as well, he had to absorb the pressure with me early doors and he could express himself at the back end. Just the way we went through the powerplay, never really felt like we could build pressure, they kept scoring. Felt like had we got him out, we could have been in the game.

(Reflection of the tournament) Great comp, personally and for the team. Really proud about how the guys went about their business, look at the overseas players - how they put their hand up. Anrich Nortje, I think 19 wickets, David Wiese also 18 wickets, Heinrich Klaasen. And then the trusted advisors like Roelof van der Merwe, how he went about as well. If there was one area we could have improved it would probably have one more batter just raise his hand throughout the competition. That's the great thing found in year one of the tournament - a lot of learning happens from year to year because these guys don't get the opportunity to play against such high-quality players all the time. All in all, very happy the way we went about this.

(On the qualification rules) It's a tough rule, with three teams qualifying but I think it's a good rule. It puts you there for playing good cricket. We played good cricket but still didn't make it because of Net Run Rate. But Net Run Rate is a thing towards the end of the comp, so you've got that one game I think we lost by 40 runs earlier in the comp, that is the game that came back to bite us at the end."
11:24 PM IST, 6:54 PM Local Time: Dublin Guardians win by 5 wickets! Wow!!! After playing poorly all tournament, Dublin Guardians have managed to pull off a stunning chase in their final group game. Well, that also means that they have played party poopers for the Rotterdam Dockers and have knocked them out of the tournament. It is how T20 cricket works. You can lose to anyone on a given day, and you can beat anyone on a given day. The Dockers could not bring their best to the table as James Vince and Co. sealed the deal in style.
The Dublin Guardians won the toss and elected to bowl first. Colin Munro smoked for 20 off 8 and powered the Dockers to 30/0 in 2 overs before the Guardians fought back and slowed things down with a couple of wickets. That is when Faf du Plessis was joined by Heinrich Klaasen in the middle and both notched up a fine 70-run stand. Klaasen followed that up with a quickfire 57-run stand with David Wiese. Faf du Plessis (42 off 37), Heinrich Klaasen (85* off 41) and David Wiese (23 off 16) all contributed to push the Dockers to a massive 188/5 after 20 overs. The pick of the bowlers for the Guardians was David Willey (2-45).
The chase started on a poor note for the Guardians as David Willey was cleaned up for a 3-ball duck. However, Harry Tector and James Vince quickly did the rebuilding and then started smoking boundaries across the turf. Vince was the key aggressor with Tector chipping in occasionally. Together they added 100 runs for the second wicket in just 8 overs and killed the chase. The partnership came to an end when Tector was caught behind for 29. Benjamin Calitz was dismissed for 3, and the Dockers had two quick wickets. A small cameo of 24 off 17 from Sanjay Krishnamurthi though made the Guardians firm favourites again.
The Dockers found a way past Krishnamurthi as well but simply could not get rid of Vince who continued to collect runs from one end. He deservingly brought up his 8th T20 hundred and pushed the Guardians across the line with 5 wickets and 6 balls to spare. Vince ended with 106* to his name. The pick of the bowlers for the Rotterdam Dockers were Shubham Ranjane (2-28) and David Wiese (2-32). Roelof van der Merwe also picked up a wicket and had figures of 1-35.
