Man of the Match: Kennar Lewis
Vikhyat: Tom perished early in the innings to the veteran Ravi Rampaul. Lewis and Walton stitched a nice little partnership but Walton was sent back to the dug-out by a spectacular catch from Azam. From there on, Lewis took the matter into his own hands and berserkly went after the bowlers, sparing no one. He single-handedly held the fort from one end and ensured a victory for the Devils. The experienced Carribeans- Narine, and Rampaul were the pick of the bowlers for the Gladiators but their effort wasn't enough to get them a win tonight.
Vikhyat: What an innings this was from Lewis. He held the one end and made sure that his team marches through the winning post. He remains unbeaten at 57. The Pune camp is elated and rightly so. This will give the Devils some momentum into this edition's journey. Devils asked the Gladiators to bat after winning the toss and the bowlers did justice to their captain's decision. Gladiators never looked at ease until Azam came to take the stance. Thanks to his services and a small cameo of 25 from Delport, Gladiators were able to put something on the board to defend. Nasir leading from the front with the ball alongside Ansari made sure that the runs were kept within their ambit.
