Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator, Ajay Pal Singh, and scorers, Ashok Dayma and Vishnu Verma. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!!
In a must-win game, Trichy simply handled the pressure better. And when the rain tried to steal the show, Trichy made sure the result did not get washed away. The Dragons had fire early, but the Cholas kept the final flame, and that's the end of this one.
And what does this result mean in the bigger picture? Trichy Grand Cholas stay firmly in the playoff race, even though their final league game will still matter. Dindigul Dragons, meanwhile, are almost out of the tournament, with their hopes now hanging by a very thin thread.
J Suresh Kumar (Trichy Grand Cholas Captain): "[Thoughts during batting] The wicket was a bit sticky initially and it was helping the bowlers. The odd ball was doing a bit and batting was difficult but the rain delay eased out the surface.

[On Dindigul's spinners vs his spinners] In the second innings, the wicket became better for batting. The spinners were not getting enough purchase and I am glad that my fast bowlers stepped up."
Player of the Match: K Rajkumar
Most Dependable Player in the Match: Antony Dhas
Highest Strike-Rate in the Match: K Rajkumar (SR of 169)
Most Fours in the Match: K Rajkumar
Baba Indrajith (Dindigul Dragons Captain): "[What went wrong?] It was a good toss to win for us. Chasing was a much easier option on this wicket. We didn't start well with the ball but pulled things back and same was the case with the bat.

[Which phase you think match slipped away from you?] I think we needed partnerships with the bat during the middle phase. I want to give credit to my bowlers, they executed their plans well. It is going to be a tricky game coming up for us.

[Thougts for the final game?] Yeah, it is going to be tough. Mathematically we are still in it but it is going to be hard."
11:43 PM IST, Local Time: In a rain-hit, high-stakes contest reduced to 19 overs per side, Trichy first piled up 197/4 after explosive half-centuries from K Rajkumar and Suresh Kumar. Dindigul responded strongly in the chase, reaching 63/1 in the Powerplay and 100 in just 10.2 overs, keeping their playoff hopes alive. But Antony Dhas and K Easwaran turned the game around with crucial wickets as Trichy defended the total and won by 28 runs via DLS. Dindigul fought, but Trichy had the finishing touch, and in a must-win game, that made all the difference.
