That's it from the coverage of match 31 of the Bangladesh Premier League. Ninaad Dixit and Zeeshan Naiyer signing off. Stay tuned for more action from around the cricketing world.
Tamim Iqbal (Player of the match and Fortune Barishal Captain): "The games we lost were extremely close games. To win big tournaments you need to have a good bowling side. Keshav played first game today bowled well. Everyone is chipping well.
I got lot of 30s and 40s because team depends on me a lot and expects me to score runs. We could have finished well, I think we were 15-20 runs short on this surface. We are concentrating on our team, every game is do or die from here."
Tamim Iqbal is the player of the match.
Taskin Ahmed (Durdanto Dhaka Captain): "Its hard losing matches. As a team we didn't play well in this tournament. We had to come on this new day and get a fresh start. If we are not doing 110% right then its hard to get results.
Trying to do the right thing all the time. More good things will come. Few games I have struggled but its getting better."
4:35 PM IST, 5:05 PM Local Time: Durdanto Dhaka slump to their ninth consecutive defeat in the tournament in the one sided contest against Fortune Barishal. FB skipper Tamim Iqbal won the toss, guided the team to 186/6 and the bowlers did extremely well to help the side win by 27 runs.
The Durdanto Dhaka chase derailed early as 4 wickets fell inside the powerplay. Keshav Maharaj chipped in the very first over removing Mohammad Naim with Mohammad Saifuddin bowling a brilliant spell to get Adam Rossington and Saif Hassan in the 2nd over.
Pick of the bowlers Khaled Ahmed had Sean Williams as his first scalp in the final over of the powerplay. Alex Ross batting at number 4 was the only bright spot for the Dhaka side as the Australian middle order batter hit 5 fours and 7 sixes in his unbeaten knock of 89 off 49 balls.
No one besides Ross, Naim, Williams and Taskin Ahmed reached double digits for Dhaka. Khaled (3/26) and Mohammad Saifuddin (3/31) picked up 3 wickets each. Obed McCoy (1/17) and Keshav Maharaj (1/19) choked the runs but Soumya Sarkar's 3 overs cost the side 54 runs.
Stay tuned for the post match presentation.
