In the end, the score of 159-7 proved to be too less on this beautiful batting wicket as Derbyshire were hardly troubled throughout their chase. Despite this loss, Warwickshire are still in a good position to advance.
A comfortable 7-wicket win for Derbyshire in the end! Chasing 160 for victory, Derbyshire got off to a superb start as Luis Reece went after the Warwickshire bowlers with Shan Masood providing him stable support. Derbyshire finished the Powerplay with 53 runs on the board after which Reece got run out in the next over. The wicket didn't put off Derbyshire's chase as Wayne Madsen came in and literally took Luis Reece's role by attacking the Warwickshire bowlers.
The pairing of Masood and Madsen made it look easy as Derbyshire got a 89-run partnership which almost sealed the game. With victory in sight, Derbyshire stuttered slightly as Madsen was caught superbly by Paul Stirling off Olly Stone's bowling while Carlos Brathwaite got rid off Leus du Plooy. In the end, Masood scored a boundary in the 19th over to take his team across the line with Brooke Guest for company.
