Derbyshire: Tough day for Derbyshire. Skipper Billy Goldeman changed bowlers at small intervals but these bowlers did not get much help from the pitch, as a result of which he was able to take only one wicket in the whole day. Sri Lankan overseas player Suranga Lakmal bowled very well but, he did not get any wickets in both the innings. Nick Potts took four wickets in the debut match, in which he dismissed Tom Haines in both the innings. Sam Conners also took four wickets in both the innings. None of the other Derbyshire bowlers could take wickets in the second innings. This is the third time a record has been made in this County Match that three Double Centuries have been scored. Derbyshire is at sixth place with twelve points in the County Division Two. Sussex bottom performer and only has 5 points.

Even on the final day, the match was in the name of Sussex and their batters played very defensive and lost only one wicket in the whole day. This morning Sussex started their innings with 278 runs where they lost 2 wickets. The Sussex Captain (Tom Haines) shares a 351 runs third-wicket partnership with Pujara which spelled trouble for the Derbyshire bowlers. 23 years old Tom Haines scored his first Double Century and gave his wicket to Nick Potts before the end of the final session. Tom Haines scored 243 runs which included 22 boundaries. On the other side, Cheteshwar Pujara showed his International experience in the second innings and batted with a bang. Pujara took some time to settle down on the pitch, then after getting set, played an unbeaten inning of a wonderful Double Century in his first County Test Match. Pujara scored an unbeaten 201* runs in which 23 boundaries were hit. Where Sussex had started his second innings to follow on 331 runs, where all the viewers felt that the match would end on the 3rd day, Sussex returned and till the final session today, a huge score of 513 runs with a loss of 3 wickets. An exciting match got drawn today.
