10:15 PM IST:A solid all-around effort from Northamptonshire sees them beat Derbyshire by six wickets. Their bowlers did a fine job to restrict Derbyshire to 151/6 before their batters stepped up and chased down the total with two overs to spare. With this, Derbyshire suffer their third loss of the competition whereas Northamptonshire grab their first win.
Chasing 152, in-form Ricardo Vasconcelos departed cheaply. Chris Lynn took his time to settle in and started building partnership along with his skipper David Willey. Both played some good shots and put 64 between them before Willey fell on 31. Lynn fell in the same over as Northamptonshire were pegged back in the run chase. Saif Zaib and Joshua Cobb looked good at the crease before the latter departed on a 17-ball 23.
Zaib teed off after getting his eye in. He played some wonderful strokes and kept the required run rate under control. There were plenty of freebies being bowled by the Derbyshire bowlers and it helped Northamptonshire get closer to the target. Zaib (37*) and Lewis McManus (19*) made sure that they were no more hiccups in the chase as they took their side across the line with two overs to spare. Zaman Khan and Luis Reece picked up two wickets each but it wasn't enough as they lost the game by six wickets.
Derbyshire were asked to bat first and they lost both their openers inside the powerplay. Wayne Madsen was looking good at the crease but he lacked support from the other end as they lost two more wickets in quick succession. Brooke Guest joined Madsen and both kept Northamptonshire at bay. They kept ticking the scoreboard in the middle overs and made sure that they didn't lose more wickets.
Both Madsen and Guest started cutting loose in the death overs. Madsen brought up his fifty and fell on 57. Guest also departed on 49 in the last over but helped his side post 151 at the end of their 20 overs. Tom Taylor bowled well for Northamptonshire and picked up two wickets by giving away 31 runs in his four overs. The batters then backed up their bowlers and made sure that they chase down the total with ease.
18.1 Z Chappell to L McManus
4nb Ohh Dear!!! Chappell attempts a yorker but ends up bowling a high full toss on the body and McManus just helps it on its way over the short fine leg fielder and for a four. That ball lands just short of the ropes and that should be the end of the game as no ball is signaled by the square leg umpire for height. Northamptonshire beat Derbyshire by six wickets.

17.6 L Reece to S Zaib
6 SIXXX!!!! Zaib with the killer blows for Northamptonshire. Reece again bowls it on a length on the stumps, Zaib was waiting for it as he stays deep in his crease and slogs it over the deep square leg fielder for a biggie.
17.5 L Reece to S Zaib
0 Reece bowls it full on the stumps and Zaib pushes it straight to mid off. No run.
17.4 L Reece to S Zaib
6 SIXXX!!!! Excellent shot from Zaib. Reece bowls it short with not much pace on this one as it sits up nicely for Zaib who pulls it handsomely over the square leg fence for a maximum.
17.3 L Reece to L McManus
1 Length delivery on leg and flicked away for a single by McManus.
17.2 L Reece to S Zaib
1 Fuller delivery on the pads and Zaib clips it behind square in the leg side for a single.
