This will pull down the curtains to this heck of a game. This is Vikhyat Jain signing off on behalf of my friends Akshay Bhide and Arjun Bhulla. Do join us tomorrow for a double-header and until then stay safe and keep others safe.
Pollard | Man of the Match: I want to thank god, uncle Steven, giving me the strength. They just lost Moeen, it was the best tome for a seamer to come and bowl. It worked, I got two wickets and another over. They had four overs of spin to bowl on a small ground, I was trying to hit them. I had to maximise against Jadeja. Couple of sixes were always going to keep us in the game. You have to evolve, lot of practice goes into it. That has helped me. I can't say I'm 360, I am maximising more angles in the field.
Man of the Match: Kieron Pollard
Had Faf du Plessis held onto that catch of Pollard in the deep, the story could have been different. But cricket's a funny game and even the best in the business can falter.
Bowlers from both teams had a nightmare and would want to keep this punishment behind them moving ahead. Although Sam Curran's brilliant effort in the death to choke Pollard for runs and also plucking out crucial wickets will be the stand-out performance on the bowling front from both teams.
Mumbai Indians started off with the chase with a Fifty-plus stand between the openers but soon the spinners pushed the MI's batsmen on the backfoot. Just when everyone might have thought that it was too late for MI to climb back into the game, Pollard clicked for MI at the right time. His disastrous knock of 87 runs from just 34 balls, pulled a victory for MI out of the jaws of defeat. And only Pollard could have done it what he did tonight.
First when CSK came out to bat, Faf and Moeen batted out of their skins to put CSK in the commanding position but a flurry of wickets halted their scoring for a while. But then it was the so-far silent Ambati Rayudu who took the center stage and belted the bowlers for a 27 balls unbeaten knock of 72 runs. At the end of the first innings CSK was in the pole position with a mammoth total on the board.
With this, Mumbai Indians register their highest ever chase and get their fourth win of the season. A perfect night for the El Classico of IPL. The match was a manifestation of- The game is not yet over until its over!!!The game was playing musical chairs ever since the start of the game.
Phew!!!! A Pollard special tonight and for those who missed it, I feel sorry for your folks right from the bottom of my right. Pollard just kept the temperature sailing through the roof ever since his arrival and once again he has shown that the game is not over till the Big Bull is out there. Pollard's mayhem and tsunami reigned over the game tonight and got his team through the line in the final over.
Arjun: Pollard has pulled it off! WHAT HAVE WE WITNESSED TONIGHT! Only this guy could have done this. Respect sir!
