Clinical bowling from Naveen-ul-Haq as he ends up with three scalps to help Colombo Stars wrap up a 41-run victory. It has to be said that Galle Gladiators' effort came to an end as soon as Kusal Mendis got out.
Chasing 163 for victory, Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka started positively with a flurry of boundaries. However, the man of the moment, Seekkuge Prasanna struck with his very first ball to send back Gunathilaka in the fourth over. The breakthrough didn't affect Mendis as he continued to bat fluently but Mohammad Hafeez lacked the same touch at the other end.
The veteran struggled for 20 deliveries before pulling a short ball from Prasanna straight to Pathum Nissanka at deep mid-wicket. In the very next over, an ill-advised shot from Bhanuka Rajapaksa saw him being stumped off Ashan Priyanjan's bowling.
Just when Galle needed a stroke of luck, Dhananjaya de Silva dropped Samit Patel off Naveen-ul-Haq's bowling. But it didn't matter as Samit dragged on a slower delivery from Ravi Rampaul in the 13th over.
