Vatsal: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beats Central Punjab by 18 runs in the 4th game of the National T20 Cup.
Opting to Bat 1st after winning the toss, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) got off to a poor start losing their openers Haris (10) and Farhan for 19. K Ghulam coming in at 3 steadied the innings with 39 off 32 and was well supported by Adil Amin (24 off 17). M Sarwar with an unbeaten 30 and Khalid Usman with quickfire 22 off just 10 took their team to a competitive 165 for 6.
The Central Punjab bowlers were good with Ali Asfand being
the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 22 in his 4 overs. Daniyal, Riaz, Niazi and U Mir got a wicket a piece to restrict the KP side to 165.
Chasing 166, Central Punjab lost stand-in skipper Shafique for 6. Shehzad played some good shots for his 26. Tahir batting at 3 took the game deep and scored a brilliant 72 off just 45 balls to keep his team in the hunt. Q Akram (15) and J Ali(18) supported Tahir for a while but none of the other batters put their hand up and they were dismissed for 147 in the 20th over. F Ashraf was retired hurt and could not come out for batting owing to his injury.
The KP Bowlers were poor at the start but came back well in the middle and at the end.
Imran Khan Sr was the star player as he got 4 for 27 in a 4-over spell. Asif Afridi and I Khan jr picked up 2 a piece and Arshad Iqbal chipped in with 1.
KP side played some good cricket overall and got the result in their favor.
Faheem Ashraf won't be coming out to bat because of his injury and Central Punjab are all-out here.

W Daniyal had nothing to do except hitting and he has hit the length ball, angling outside off lofted straight. There was not much power on it and he got himself caught to long on fielder. That's the end of the match.
