Karun Nair (Coastal Kings Mangaluru Captain): (On missing out personally but seeing the team win) "Of course, I was disappointed individually to get run out, but I was really happy with the position the team was in. I was also really glad that Nikin was able to finish the game and get that hundred. It was a special knock for him, and hopefully it's just the start for us, and we can keep going the same way.
(On restricting the opposition to 177) Our bowlers did a great job in restricting them to that total on a decent wicket. We started really well and picked up wickets at regular intervals. There was a special innings from Manish, and they came back well because of that, but I thought we finished the innings strongly.
(On the overall bowling performance) We asked our bowlers to pick up wickets in the Powerplay, and that's exactly what they did. If you can get wickets in the Powerplay, you always give yourself a chance to keep the opposition to a lower score. We kept taking wickets at regular intervals, and that was the key.
(On finally getting a game after the washout) Of course, we've been here for three or four days and hadn't played a game, so everyone was really excited to get going. It was great to finally get on the field and showcase our skills.
(On the team's positive environment and ambitions) It's a new team and a new franchise, and we're very excited about the season. Macneil Noronha (Gulbarga Mystics): (On the team's batting performance) "I think, firstly, I could have taken a little more responsibility and batted deeper. Being one of the senior players in the side, I should have taken the team through the innings. I think we were probably 20 to 25 runs short, and that's where we fell behind.
(On what the team could have done better) From the bowling perspective, I feel we should have executed a little better. Considering the dimensions of the ground and the conditions, I don't think we used them to our advantage as well as we could have.
(On the pitch conditions) Yeah, I think the pitch did offer a little more help for the spinners. The ball was turning and dipping into the wicket, and there was definitely something there for the bowlers.

A show-stopper in his own fashion, Jose smashed a belligerent 100* off 47 balls to bulldoze the Gulbarga Mystics in their second game.
The chase didn’t start as expected for the Mangaluru unit as Venkatesh was chopped on against a shortish ball from Aaditya Nair in the third over. However, Karun Nair enforced a counterpunch in the same over keeping the hopes high for the fans from the coastal region.
Nikin Jose showcased his class against the pacers and spinners while Nair took the aggressive role inside the powerplay. Following a 69-run total inside the field restrictions, Jose joined Nair in the boundary-whopping contest. The pair charged against the left-arm mystery spin of Paras Gurbax Arya with Karun reaching a fifty in quick time. They were accelerating over 10 runs per over, and the Gulbarga bowlers seemed toothless.
Just when the pair seemed to be racing to a hundred runs mark, a calamitous runout caused the partnership to break at 96. Following Nair’s 31-ball 56, Jose stole the show.
