Do join us at 8:30 AM IST, Local Time for Day 3's action!
Day 3 promises another tough examination for Chhattisgarh, who must find a way to survive Punjab’s relentless attack and chip away at the deficit. Punjab, meanwhile, will be hungry for the remaining five wickets, and perhaps a very early finish to their morning plans!
SESSION SUMMARY, DAY 2:

Morning Session:
38 Overs, 103 Runs, 0 Wickets
Afternoon Session: 24.5 Overs, 84 Runs, 6 Wickets
Evening Session: 27 Overs, 72 Runs, 5 Wickets
4:46 PM IST, Local Time: STUMPS ON DAY 2! This day belonged to Punjab for the most part, as the hosts turned a strong start into a commanding first-innings total before Harpreet Brar made sure Chhattisgarh had a long evening to forget. From 269/4 overnight, Punjab marched to 456 all out, powered by Uday Saharan’s magnificent 161 and Salil Arora’s equally valuable 107. Dharmendra Jadeja fought back with a seven-wicket haul, but the damage had already been done. Then came Punjab’s reply with the ball, and Brar wasted little time making an impact. By stumps, Chhattisgarh were reeling at 72/5, still 384 runs behind. Punjab had scored the runs, taken the wickets and pretty much kept the remote control of this contest in their own hands!
The morning session was all about patience and partnerships. Saharan and Arora resumed with Punjab comfortably placed, and the pair continued to frustrate the bowlers with a marathon stand. Saharan crossed 150, while Arora brought up a fine century after grinding his way to 107 off 226 balls. Their partnership carried Punjab past 400, but Jadeja eventually found Saharan’s edge to break the stand at 389. Arora followed soon after, trapped in front by the left-arm spinner, and suddenly the wickets began to tumble. Jadeja kept striking, Warrier removed Emanjot Singh Chahal, and Punjab slipped from a position of immense strength into a lower-order scramble. The afternoon belonged to the bowlers for a while, but Punjab still had plenty in the bank.
Jadeja finished the innings with seven wickets as Punjab were bowled out for 456 in 152.5 overs. His figures were a reward for persistence, even if Saharan and Arora had made him work overtime for every breakthrough. Then Harpreet Brar took centre stage. Chhattisgarh’s reply began badly, with Sanidhya Hurkat falling for four and Aayush Pandey departing for 14. Brar kept the pressure tight, and the wickets continued to arrive: Sanjeet Desai fell for five, Ashutosh Singh was dismissed for 16, and Jadeja himself was sent back for a duck. There was a brief twist when Ashutosh had a reprieve off a no-ball, but Brar returned to remove him later. At the close, Amandeep Khare is unbeaten on 15 and Vikalp Tiwari on 16, with Chhattisgarh at 72/5 after 27 overs. Brar has figures of 5/21, and the hosts are already eyeing a sizeable lead before Chhattisgarh can even get close to Punjab’s total.
