Player of the Match: Saad Bin Zafar
12:51 AM IST, 3:21 PM Local Time: Team Canada pull off a stunning victory in the low scoring encounter to kick start the Tri Series with a 14-run win against a strong Nepal side.

Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl first to do a decent job restricting Canada to 123/8 in 20 overs with Sandeep Lamichhane (3/29) and Sompal Kami (3/30) doing wonders with the ball.

Chasing the low total, Nepal started off well hitting 10 runs in the first over but lost Anil Sah in the 2nd over as left arm spinner Parveen Kumar struck early. His opening partner Aasif Sheikh fell in the next over to Kaleem Sana with Dev Khanal getting out in the 6th over by Akhil Kumar as Nepal found themselves in trouble at 36/3 at the end of the powerplay.

Skipper Rohit Paudel top scored with 37 in 39 balls anchoring the innings but was dismissed in the 17th over with 29 needed in 24 balls. The middle order toppled against the left arm spin of Saad Bin Zafar and left arm seamer Kaleem Sana. Sandeep Lamichhane added 10 in 11 balls and stayed till the end but failed to take the team past the line.

Sana was the pick of the bowlers with 4/26, Bin Zafar finished his spell with 3/13. Parveen (1/16) and Akhil Kumar (1/25) picked up a wicket apiece. Harsh Thaker bowled a beautiful 4-over spell of 0/18 to restrict Nepal from chasing the low score.
