Despite frequent weather interruptions, the first innings managed to drag to a conclusion, highlighted by a masterclass in pace bowling from Anrich Nortje. Delivering an electrifying performance, Nortje tore through the opposition to claim his first-ever five-wicket haul in T20 cricket. The relentless weather delayed the start of the chase, ultimately forcing officials to employ a revised target of 121 runs from 14 overs.
The restart proved fleeting, as a sudden burst of heavy rain halted play after just a single over of the second innings. With the downpour showing no signs of stopping, the umpires officially abandoned the match, forcing the Dockers and the Wolves to split the points. It was an unfortunate end to a contest that promised an exciting finish, but even Nortje's historic spell could not outplay the weather.
