The Tridents will host St Lucia Kings tomorrow in match number 29 of the Men's Caribbean Premier League! The game is scheduled at 4:30 AM IST/7 PM Local Time. Before that, the Guyana Amazon Warriors will face the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at 12:30 AM IST/3 PM Local Time.
A brilliant victory thanks to the spinners and skipper Nicholas Pooran has kept the Trinbago Knight Riders' hopes hanging by the thread in the competition. Barbados Tridents are at the bottom of the table with 4 points but have 4 more games to play, pretty much alive in the contest.
Nicholas Pooran (Trinbago Knight Riders Captain): "[What was the difference tonight?] Getting three wickets in the Powerplay, that was brilliant for us as a bowling group. Even before that, the senior players absorbed the pressure. We weren't focusing too much on the scorecard. We weren't too reckless. Just felt that we needed to get partnerships. Felt like we did the hard work and then gave it away in the end, that has been the story for us in the tournament. From the bowling, King for a reason, Sunil Narine. Showing his greatness tonight, we asked him to produce one of his MLC performances tonight and that is exactly what he did. He is the greatest T20 bowler we have ever seen and tonight he proved himself once more which he didn't have to. He led the way for us. Akeal (Hosein) came and bowled in the Powerplay. Lahiru (Kumara) came and bowled with good speeds, Usman was economical and then even Jyd Goolie playing a role for us and bowling really nicely.. All in all, brilliant game and the characters in the team stepped up. That is most important for us. We are a successful franchise and this is why. We continue to fight and still here.
[What do you tell your men going into the final game?] For us, personally we are all disappointed. The results have to go in our favour but that is not in our control. We just have to come out and represent this brand as much as possible and the people of Trinidad and Tobago, we know we disappointed them a lot. We just want to come out and put smiles on their faces. Who knows, cricket is a funny game. A couple of games could go in our favour and it could be in our hands coming into Guyana. We are also a very dangerous side and going into Guyana who are a dangerous team as well. We are not out of the tournament by any means yet, the guys are really optimistic. So, lets just see how it goes. For now, just really happy to be there as a group."

Chris Green (Barbados Tridents Captain): [on the bowling effort from his side] "It was really good. I was really pleased with that first half. They've got some dangerous players but looked like they were started to get going but we were able to take wickets at crucial stages and restricted them to a 140-odd. We felt like at halfway, the wicket started to skid on but every task is tough when you've got the skill set and dominance of Sunil Narine and Usman Tariq. They are classy bowlers. They have been doing it around the world for a long time, particularly Sunil. We just weren't able to navigate him to the best of our ability. Anytime you lose 4 wickets in the powerplay, it makes things tough.
[on dealing the pressure of a run chase] I don't think it is so much about run chases. It's partnerships. In the 2 games we won, we've had really good partnerships and the games we've lost our way a little bit and tonight it felt like a game of 2 halves. We did really well with the bowling performance and then with the bat we lacked partnerships at the back end. We showed glimpses of it with Rutherford-Shadrack partnership and then Rutherford and Sams but we just weren't able to extend that and unfortunately it needs to be done at the top of the order, not at the middle or the back end of the game.
[on the crowd] Thank you for coming out tonight. The atmosphere was amazing. We gutted with our performance but we come back. We've got to dust ourselves off and we'll try and put in a better performance tomorrow because we definitely need to."

Sunil Narine (Player of the Match): [How did you structure that defence?] Think the only thing that could have happened is for us to take wickets. We had to bowl attacking, if we go for runs, so be it. We were clinical in the stuff we planned and somedays it comes off, today was one. Thankful for that. Great to have a win.
[What has gone behind the scenes with this new Powerplay role?] I think it started in MLC and it is continuing here and it something that is going to go on and on. It is just about keeping the mind as quiet as possible. Thinking about the game too much sometimes is not great. Just about going out and delivering what I could.
[Thoughts on your season personally] It has been a good season for me but I would give that up for the team to win more games.
