That's it from our coverage of this fixture. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Sahil Khan. Stay tuned for more action from around the cricketing world.
The CPL juggernaut pauses for a day and continues on Wednesday, 4:30 AM IST/ 7 PM Local (Tuesday)  with the Guyana Amazon Warriors taking on the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in a top of the table clash.
The Barbados Tridents still languish at the bottom of the point table but have 3 matches to play. 6 points to their name in 7 games. 3 wins will see them through to the playoffs and even 2 victories will strengthen their case. St Lucia Kings hang around at number 4 with 8 points and have just one match left in the league stage.
Chris Green (Barbados Tridents Captain): [on winning after 4 losses] "It feels good anytime you win. Puts a smile on your face. Really proud of everyone's performance tonight. Probably our closest efforts to a complete game of cricket. Fielding was tough out there for both sides. It was very wet, lot of dew, lot of rain had fallen so really proud of our efforts and those 2 batting at the end, seeing us home was fantastic.

[on the chat with the bowling group] I don't think I can take all the credit for that. The execution the last 2 games has been fantastic. Jakeem Pollard coming in these 2 games, impressing straightaway as a youngster. Playing in his home conditions, the excitement's there but naturally the nerves are there. I've been really impressed and proud of him, the way he's gone about it and really stood up to the opportunity and grabbed with both hands. All our young players have done that since we've come home. There's a lot of senior players around this group but the youngsters are the ones who are gonna win us the tournament.

[on nervy moments in the run chase] A discussion we had was just around Rivaldo looking to take it on but to me it looked like Quinny and Rivaldo were well and truly ahead of that. Realizing that they batted us into a position to now takedown their options and what we saw was fantastic. Really proud of the way they orchestrated the run chase and saw us home.

[on the crowd] Thank you. That noise at the end was fantastic. The atmosphere last night was awesome. We've got 3 more games. Depending on results, we win 2 of those we are qualified if we win 3 we are obviously in. Our goals is the home finals."
Roston Chase (St Lucia Kings Captain): "[Reflect on today's game] I cannot pinpoint any moment. I just thought we were 15-20 runs short. I thought we left it there. We were in a good position coming into the last five or four overs, and then maybe we didn't get that momentum in the end. They got too many wickets in the clutch at the end there, and having a low score like that, I think you need to get wickets early in the powerplay. We didn't really get too many wickets, and then we put down some crucial chances. I thought we were poor in the field as well, too many mistakes.

[Learn and takeaway from these experiences] Well, it's the same thing, basically. I just think we need to win the key moments. Every time we seem to be in a good position, we let ourselves back into the game. So it's just for us, whenever we get that momentum, to carry it as deep as possible and finish well at the end.

[On the next fixture in Guyana] Yeah, well, Guyana, you know, you probably get a lot of spin-friendly wickets, probably going to keep a bit lower. So I think we have to make a plan around that.

[On captaining against Barbados] It's franchise cricket, so I'm not really Barbados at this point. I'm St Lucia at this point, so it is what it is."
Mujeeb Ur Rahman (POTM): "[Plan on this surface] Yesterday, we bowled really well. Same plan we applied today. We bowled wicket to wicket on a length, so it was gripping as well. Bowling wicket to wicket was my plan.

[Love playing in the Caribbean?] I love it, this is my fourth time here. I love and enjoy everywhere in the Caribbean. The crowd supports every team in numbers, so it is good.

[Playing in front of home crowd] We thank a lot to the people who came in to support us at the ground."
Player of the Match: Mujeeb Ur Rahman
8:02 AM IST, 10:32 PM Local Time: The hosts Barbados Tridents bring some smiles to the fans with a fantastic 8-wicket win over the St Lucia Kings in match 29 of the Caribbean Premier League 2026!
The Tridents won the toss and elected to bowl first. Mujeeb Ur Rahman starred for the hosts with 3/22, Daniel Sams picked up 2/20 to continue his good run of form as the Kings were restricted to 138/6 - only Kamil Pooran (37) and skipper Roston Chase (34) managing to score into 30s.
Brandon King set the chase off with a first ball boundary but the Tridents bowlers tightened the screws. Skipper Chase got the first breakthrough after he put down Zachary Carter at mid on. The off spinner claimed a good return catch to send King back for 22 off 20.
