Barbados Tridents with a 4-wicket win have knocked out St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. The Tridents themselves are yet to book their spot in the playoffs and need just one win from their remaining 2 games to do that.
Chris Green (Barbados Tridents Captain): [on the difference between the last 2 games] "I think the consistent factor in the 3 home games has been our bowling performance. Really proud of our efforts. It's been different bowlers stepping up at crucial times and as a whole collective group, we've bonded really nicely. We've got a really good blueprint that's been successful at home here. Hopefully we can keep that going and then then the last 2 games with the bat, the cricketing smarts and the senior player in Quinton de Kock really stood up and anchored that innings. Other players have chipped in around him. Full credit to Quinny getting us over the line there.

[on areas to evolve] I still think we haven't quite played our best cricket. We're playing really good cricket at home. It's important to do that knowing that finals are here as well. We said at the start of the tournament, home team wants to be there for finals and have that home crowd advantage and we're one step closer to that. Inch by inch, game by game and we keep getting better and better hopefully.

[on their batting] Conditions here have been difficult to bat on. If it stays consistent about a 150 wicket. It has seen some lower scoring games, some scrappy games. The way we've gone about it, particularly the last 2, I think we've applied some learnings from our loss against Trinidad in a low scoring games and we've navigated nicely. Winning the toss helps and having the platform to bat around certain players is so important."
Jason Holder (St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Captain): "[Are there any moments that stand out where you think you can get back?] Yeah, the two games against Jamaica, thought we should have done a lot better. We should have won both of them. Had a close game against Antigua. There was a rained out game as well which unfortunately we don't have control of. All in all, we had a few games to win which we didn't win. My last two seasons here, pretty much the same story, came close but we haven't quite got over the line. On reflection for the franchise, we have got to look at ways to get over the line.

[Your own performance and experience of leading the franchise over these two years] Yeah, for me, didn't have the best of tournaments this year. Probably a bit flat, it has been a lot of cricket played the entire year. So, looking forward to maybe a couple of weeks' rest and see what goes from there. From a franchise stand-point, we have got a lot of work to do. We need some more consistency in all three departments. We have let ourselves down in the field. Probably short with a few runs and obviously the bowling which is probably the most consistent part but there is still room for improvement.

[Good to come back to the Mecca, how is that for you?] Always good to play here at Kensington Oval. Even they we only made 118, felt that we were still in the game with new ball wickets. It is a new ball wicket, have always said that here at Kensington Oval. Unfortunately, we didn't get through with the new ball and lost three wickets in the Powerplay. They lost three in the Powerplay as well but got away."
Chris Green (Player of the Match): "[What were you working on in this crunch game?] Was nice to get some wickets and contribute but most importantly getting the win and pushing us one step closer towards qualifying, achieving our goal of qualifying and having a home final. When you contribute to a win like that, it always feels nice.

[Do you try and change anything, do you bring in new deliveries?] You are always looking to evolve your game. Obviously, batters do a lot of research, opposition do a lot of research. For me, it just comes down to execution. If you execute your best ball, if they hit you off that, you tip your hat and try and rinse and repeat. So, it is small adjustments here and there. Lucky that it came off tonight.

[What about your fielding, I remember last year wasn't so hot] It is one thing that Trevor Penney prides himself on, that's fielding. He has been having some naughty boy sessions with us late at night at a lot of venues around the Caribbean and it seems to be paying off. You are still going to drop catches. Under lights, it's still difficult than all the other ground. I am proud of our efforts in the field and the way we are responding to pressure situations and going towards danger. It has been impressive so far and hopefully, we can keep going."
Player of the Match: Chris Green
8:13 AM IST, 10:43 PM Local Time: The Barbados Tridents stay alive in the race of playoffs with a 4-wicket victory over the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in match 32 in the Caribbean Premier League! The experience of Chris Green and Quinton de Kock coming in handy in the important win.
Green called it right at the toss and elected to bowl first. The skipper was instrumental in restricting the Patriots to 118 with 4/20. Daniel Sams (2/21) and Gudakesh Motie (2/30) shared 4 wickets between them. Wanindu Hasaranga top scored with 45 off 25 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. No Tridents bowler could harm him but he was run out while stealing a second run and missed out on a half century.
Jason Holder struck twice in the first over and thrice in the first 5 overs of the chase to send the top order back in the shed. Shadrack Descarte then joined forces with de Kock adding 38 runs for the 4th wicket before Naseem Shah had him caught off a full toss for 19 off 18.
