That's it from match number 35 and the league phase. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
The league phase of the Caribbean Premier League 2026 comes to an end. The Barbados Tridents take on the Jamaica Kingsmen in the Eliminator on Thursday, 4:30 AM IST (7 PM Local Time, Wednesday).
Guyana Amazon Warriors will have few concerns before the playoffs that they would like to solve. Barbados Tridents will be confident to take on Jamaica Kingsmen in the eliminator with their bench strength putting up a good display tonight as well.
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "[Two batting collapses- is there a pattern?] No, not really. If you look at it. The pitch played a little bit bad obviously in the first half than the second. It got little bit better. I think that was the advantage really. There were a couple of dismissals off balls that kept really low, so I can't completely blame the batters, but there was also some poor shot selection from our side. We obviously need to sit down and discuss it, especially because it looks like we'll be facing pretty much the same scenario again.

[Plan for the playoffs] Look, the plan is pretty much the same. We know the opposition we're going to play against, so we just need to sit down, talk it through, and be capable to do anything, just like we've done all season. We've been put in tough situations at times, and we just need to overcome them. We've only had two bad games so far, so from a team standpoint, it's been a great effort from the boys. We've played a really good brand of cricket and we want to carry on that.

[On the Warriors fans] We're still very grateful to them. They always turn out to support us, and it means a lot. I'm pretty sure we're going to see a full house, and we're really looking forward to that game."
Chris Green (Barbados Tridents Captain): [on the win] "For us the home leg was our last leg. Every team talks about their home leg being the most important. Even more so for us, given the finals are here. It was great last night to achieve the goal of home finals and this was always a danger game. You come here with all your goals ticked off, you can just let it drift by but I'm really happy with our effort. We dominated and took the game on and took down the form team of this tournament. We go into Wednesday with full confidence and looking forward to that matchup against Jamaica.

[on the Guyana total] Excellent bowling and it started from the get go. Ghazanfar, Motie, George Linde were outstanding. I think we had 3 bowlers on a hat-trick at one stage tonight. In the 5 games played here, what's been impressive has been our bowling consistency. That's something that has got us into really strong positions in all 5 games. We didn't chase the runs against Trinidad but we've been chasing under par totals and getting the job done. Full credit to our bowling lineup. It's a different player standing up each time which has been so impressive.

[on the eliminator and possibility to bat first] I lose tosses for fun. Somehow I've won the last 5 in a row, I don't know how that's happened. Batting 2nd we have a good blueprint to navigate the conditions at Kensington and try get a 150-160 total if conditions are like that. As for Jamaica, we know after that close game last night they're gonna come hard wanting to take us down and knock us out here at home. We want to capture this crowd and try and dominate it and take them down. It's gonna be a great clash. It's an exciting part of the tournament for the 4 teams remaining and one I'm really looking forward to."
Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar (POTM): "[What pleased you the most] Just trust on my skills. I used my variation with a plan. That's it.

[Bowling to Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer, enjoyed that challenge?] Yeah, bowling in the powerplay is always a challenge. I have good plans for these guys, I want to repeat this performance again and again for Barbados.

[How did he enjoy his time in Barbados?] I really like. I like outside places, I ate fresh fish, love the Barbados crowd."
Player of the Match: Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar
7:58 AM IST, 10:28 PM Local Time: Barbados Tridents finish their league phase with a thumping 6-wicket win over the Guyana Amazon Warriors and finish 3rd on the table, Amazon Warriors despite the loss finish at the top of the table.
