Milestone
That's the end of this BBL clash, but don't you worry as cricket coverage never ends here. This is me Arjun Bhalla signing it off along with my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Anurag Singh. Until the next time, stay safe and get vaccinated.
James Bazley | Player of the Match: "Pleasing to get the first win on the board. The bowlers really did the job well and we batted well enough to close things down. Yeah, that (slower balls into the wicket) was the plan, it always works here and we got into that plan rather early here. As I'm getting older, I'm able to understand my game a lot better."

Finally! Finally, Brisbane Heat have put points on the table. Jimmy Peirson’s side have scored their first win of the season, plus they have also bagged that Bash Boost point as well. Initially, it was the Chris Lynn Show that made the chase just a formality, then Heazlett and skip Peirson provided the finishing touches.

Lynn came out to the middle in some mood. His mood, you ask? It was to thump the bowlers all across the park. He
blistered them with some marvellous boundaries and a six from the very first. As the Powerplay went on, Lynny tied his boots on and went berserk. But he got out soon later to some deceptive bowling from Zahir Khan, who was clinical throughout the day taking 3 wickets and a low catch in the fine leg region.
The Renegades bowlers tried to redeem themselves in the middle phase by putting brakes on the run flow and taking regular wickets. However, that wasn't enough after the blastering knock of Lynn, as Melbourne were always 20-25 runs short. Heazlett was the reason the Heat got over the line despite wickets at regular intervals hindering their chances of a comfortable win. He alongside Jimmy Peirson eased the things, after a few hiccups in the middle phase, as Brisbane managed to get their first points of the season.

16.5 R Topley to J Bazley
1lb Full and down on the leg. Bazley looks to fine tickle it but the ball pushes his pad and runs to the keeper. They scamper across, the keeper tries to have a shy at the non striker's end, but fails his aim. Leg bye in the end.
16.4 R Topley to S Heazlett
1 Short of a length delivery into Heazlett who hangs back for the slower one. He pulls it to deep square leg for a run across.
16.3 R Topley to J Bazley
1lb Slower length delivery on the middle and leg. Bazley misses the connection on his attempted flick and gets rapped on the thigh pad. The ball rolls down to the off side and they sneak in a leg bye.
16.2 R Topley to J Bazley
6 SIXX!! That is brutal strength from Bazely. Picks up the length early and lands it in the first tier. Topley drags his length on the stumps to Bazely who gets into position early and pulls this ferociously into the cow corner stands.
16.1 R Topley to J Bazley
4 Bazley hangs back and flat bats it over the bowler's head with his brute force. Back of a length a dink outside off, the batter makes some space by hanging back and then powers it over the bowler with a tennis like shot for a boundary.
