That's it from our coverage of the 28th game in the Women's Hundred competition played between Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Nat Sciver-Brunt (Hero of the Match and Trent Rockets Women Captain): "Yeah, thank you. Pretty happy with how the ball came out. Haven't had much success but happy with how it came out today.

We were happy with that score. When we get early wickets, we will be on top. They will get the partnerships but pleased to see that our bowlers stuck in it for a longer period.

In terms of the chase, we got ahead of it earlier. So, it gave a bit of relief and it didn't put us under the pressure as the innings progressed.

We have had so many close games. Feels better to come out on the right side of the result today. We are looking forward to the next game against the Oval Invincibles and win it and have a chance to go through."
Hero of the Match: Nat Sciver-Brunt
10:08 PM IST, 5:38 PM Local Time: A low scoring thriller at the Edgbaston with visitors Trent Rockets remaining alive in the competition with a 3-wicket victory over the Birmingham Phoenix who have been knocked out of the tournament.

Phoenix won the toss and elected to bat first and trudged their way to 112/6 with Sterre Kalis (47 off 45) and Richa Ghosh (41 off 36) the only batters to get a substantial score. Nat Sciver-Brunt (2/16) and Ash Gardner (2/17) starring with the ball for Rockets.

The chase didn't begin as the Rockets would have fancied losing 2 wickets for 20 runs inside the powerplay. Grace Scrivens (19) and skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt (34 off 25) added 33 runs for the 3rd wicket with the captain then adding a further 36 with Gardner (20 off 12) to strengthen the team's position.

A middle order collapse beckoned with Sciver-Brunt, Heather Graham, Gardner and Alana King departing in quick time. With 12 required in 13 deliveries and 3 wickets in hand, Katie George and Josie Groves pulled out a heist in an exciting chapter of play with the latter hitting a boundary to finish the game with 3 balls to spare.

Emily Arlott and Charis Pavely both bowled in the death really well finishing with identical figures of 2/21. Issy Wong (1/15) impressed in the first match of her season with Katie Levick (1/25) also getting an early wicket. Hannah Baker (0/17) was wicketless but helped to contain the scoring in her 15-ball spell.
19-year old Josie Groves hits the winning runs and keeps her side alive in the competition. Birmingham Phoenix Women are knocked out of the Women's Hundred 2024.
97b K Levick to J Groves
4 FOUR RUNS! Its all over! Groves holds her nerves! 48 mph. Length delivery pitching outside the off stump. Shuffles across a long way in the off side and sweeps it behind square in the leg side. Huge gap on offer with fine leg inside the ring and no protection at deep backward square. Had to beat deep square and does it comfortably to win the game for Rockets!
A dot to start the last set. 3 runs required from 4 balls now.
